Can from Bgthang in a trade. Popped this open whithout really thinking about it and was blown away. Pours straw yellow with a medium white head that leaves a light foam on the beer the length of the glass. Aroma is huge crackers, dried grass and some soapy notes that are a little floral. This beer packs a punch. Lots of big hay and grassy malts, very clean throughout but a huge fresh hop presence in the finish drying the mouth and leaving me wanting more. Single handedly one of the best pilsners I have ever had and one of the best beers of the last year. One that gets me excited to rate beer. Wish I had this stuff readily available. On draught at The Ginger Man in Austin. My highest rating yet for a pilsener, really impressed with this beer. Pour was pale golden with 1/2 finger head. Delicious aroma. Wasn’t expecting such a fresh taste! Appropriately hoppy. Medium body, easy to drink with food, also. Great palate, great beer! HopDropandRoll (6) - - AUG 27, 2011 does not count
I usually prefer Czech Pilsners (Live Oak), but this German Pils is really cool. It’s much hoppier than I was expecting, both in aroma and flavor. The hops are really bright and spicy, which makes for a pretty refreshing beer considering how much flavor there is.

I’ll admit - I’m becoming an ABW fanboy. The cans just look so cool, but I’ll be damned if the beer isn’t great, too.
Really nice and hoppy and just plain good. Its kind of earthy, floral, spicy, oily... All somehow balanced together. My favorite beer on a hot day. superspak (5600) - Michigan, USA - FEB 21, 2012
Got this in a trade with a friend. 12 ounce can into pilsener glass; no canning date, but I got it recently. Pours almost crystal clear golden straw color with a nice 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with fantastic retention that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some decent lacing clinging the glass, and plenty of carbonation streaming up. Aromas of lemon, grass, floral hops, pepper, herbs, and a bit of biscuit. Nice aromas with good balance and decent strength. Taste of big lemon, biscuit, floral, pepper, herb, grass, and spiciness. Light floral bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, biscuit, herb, pepper, and spiciness on the finish for a bit. Medium carbonation and body; with a crisp and very nice mouthfeel that is not thin at all. No alcohol noticed at all in the taste or finish as expected, and very drinkable. Overall this is a highly excellent pilsener, with a ton of nice well balanced flavor. One of the best ones I have had for sure.

Nice tohave this available year round here in austin. I HATE PILSNERS! but this one takes it to the next level. I LOVE HOPS! and this beer proves that even a bad style can be saved by hops! My dislike of the style is the cereal flavor is how I describe it. Makes you want to add milk and use a spoon, not on this baby! It begs for you to guzzle it and drink more. It is very crisp and refreshing, especially on Texas hot as hell summers! THe nose is floral and slight fruity with this backbone of cracker I get. The mouthfell is light and crisp, and finishes with a nice hop flavor. I am always excited to throw these in as extras because its an under the radar beer! Fresh can, courtesy SoLan. Pours a crystal clear, middle of the road golden hue. The body is strewn with effervescing streams of micro-bubbles. A moderate head of off-white froth settles to a thin, patchy layer, leaving hard, sticky flares of lace about the glass. The nose is clean and inviting, based in lightly sweet cracker dough, just-baking bread, and a subtle hint of egg wash. The malt base is perfectly countered by spicy, peppery, dried grass hops. On the first sip, the promise that the nose makes is fulfilled. Balance is impeccable, if not tilted slightly to the hoppy side of the needle. Fresh grass meets lightly sweet dough, mild toast, and delicious, delicious lager yeast. The palate is the perfect medium body, with the perfect amount of lightly spritzy carbonation there to clean the sugars off the palate. So good and refreshing. The only thing missing is the bratwurst and spätzle. lb4lb (2587) - Austin, Texas, USA - DEC 6, 2012
Pours golden with whitish head. Smell is clean, hay, grassy and light malt. Taste is smooth and crisp balanced malt and grassy hops. Very easy to drink. Great Pilsner. egajdzis (6589) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 26, 2013
Golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of pils malt, grassy hops, light citrus, toast. Taste of citrus, grass, some sweeter toffee notes, and toasted malts in the finish. Two solid pils’ from Texas on this trip. Homer321 (5072) - Melboring, Florida, USA - JUL 10, 2014
Holy shit. Can smell the hops as soon as I crack the can! A strong, pungent grassy, pissy, catty hop aroma. Drank from the can. Super quenching and perfectly balanced between bitter, hop flavor and just a touch of malt that keeps it from being obnoxious. Is this really made in the same state as the asstros and Lone Star. Great pilsner!
