UPDATED: DEC 25, 2015 Pours opaque brownish black with a loose white head that quickly disappears, followed by wet, foamy lacing. Aroma is heavy coffee, roast, and that’s about it. Flavor is loads of coffee up front, caramel, bread, malt. Not a complex nose or palate, but a tasty seasonal beer folks in the region look forward to. A simple classic.

Beer No. 1,400 from Texas. Growler thanks to errl. Been wanting to try this one for years. Black pour with a tan head. The aroma is a mix of coffee and chocolate. Aroma primarily roasted coffee. Thick black pour with tan ring and no lacing. The taste is slightly and primarily coffee flavored. Full body and medium carbonation. Overall, aggressive coffee flavor up front which mellows on the back end while the high alcohol content is well hidden.

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2015 Pours pitch black with a little lace of a head into a pint glass from tap. Aroma is sugar sweet like with some roasted hints. Taste is delicious. Dark black with tan head. Smell is strongly of coffee, dark chocolate and cream. Taste is dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, and cream. Rich mouthfeel with slightly prickly carbonation. Awesome imperial coffee oatmeal stout. These guys make fantastic beers.
