On tap at the brewery. Pours a deep black to brown with a thin tan head. Big roast on the nose, chocolate, cocoa, nutty and toasty on the nose. Medium bodied, sweet and roasty, big chocolate and cocoa, lots of nice malt and roast. A touch on the sweet side, malt and roat, sweet and tasty and full of roast. Cocoa, roast, chocolate, slow lingering chocolate into the finish. Balanced overall, but a touch sweet on the finish. Very tasty.

Draft. Even tide Oyster bar. Black with an average tan head and nice lacing. Aroma is cocoa, roasted barley, lactose, and mild coffee. Drake (14447) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 7, 2017
Flavor is rich in dark chocolate, coffee with cream, and some bitter cocoa and maybe barley in the finish. Overall somewhat creamy and dry near the end. Some mild lingering sweetness from the lactose. Actually very good for under 7 %.
Keg at the brewery. Clear dark brown, thin creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of roast, chocolate, tobacco. Taste is vanilla, roast, coffee, bits of cherry. Medium bodied.brokensail (16696) - Dublin, California, USA - NOV 30, 2016

Northeast Bucket List Trip Beer #93. Keg at the brewpub. Pours near black with a thin tan head. Poor head retention. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, mild lactose. The taste is roasted malts, lactose, chocolate, mild dark fruits. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness.
On tap @ Austin Street. Black in color with a tan head. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, and plenty of creamy sweetness. There’s a good bit of molasses and toffee sweetness, too. Maybe a little bit of dark fruits. Solid sweet/milk stout. A touch of cream and sugar laden coffee in the background. Not too shabby.

Draught at the brewery, 10/21/16.DiarmaidBHK (6187) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 16, 2016
Deep amber-tinted mahogany body is topped by a beige head, medium in size and showing moderate to moderately strong retention.
Rich fudge, lactose and light caramel accentuate the nose as licorice and plums sit in the background. Vanilla cream and light acidity from the malt and milk sugar combining give a good sweet/tart character, while there’s no alcohol or flaw. Very rich, comforting, but not cloying nose.
Same with the flavor, maybe I was just in the mood for a sweeter beer (doubtful) but despite the milk sugar being prominent here, with lots of vanilla and fudge notes, there’s still ample acidity near the finish that gives a lip smacking brightness and balance to the beer. Soft, of course, malty texture and low but engaging carbonation with no flaw or alcohol. Very nice!
Draft at mash tun. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Has some chocolate malt notes on the nose. Solid roasted malt on the tongue though I wish the lactose came through stronger. Finished fairly clean. Solid.

Black pour from draft at their taproom. Tons of foamy off white head. Fruits and graham crackers. Great beer. GIJOE (1260) - North Berwick, Maine, USA - APR 18, 2015
Black pour, creamy tan head. Nose is cocoa and cream. Taste is balanced, but on the sweet side for me. Medium to full body. Decent milk stout.
