3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black with absolutly no light shining through, small head with large boubles. Smells of pine, some fruit and a little burnt note. The taste is hop driven with lots of pince, hop cones and resin, but it is surprisingly easy drinking with a moderate bitterness. Mouthfeel is oily, yet at the same time drying out your mouth. Very easy drinking beer, only letdown is the relatively low carbonation. I hope this will become one of their regular beers as it is one of the best ones that has come out of this brewery.
Looks black in a dark room. Small bubbly head. Quite strong aroma. Chocolate, mild roasted, hoppy and fruity. The flavor was about the same. Some alcohol also coming up. After a not so inviting first impression, it got better. Second problem was the carbonation. Way to flat. Some carbonation would have lifted this one. Hope to try it some other time.Meilby (11495) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 21, 2014

Draught @ Den Gode Nabo, Trondheimgyllenbock (9184) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 21, 2014
Pours hazy dark brown with a few off-white bubbles. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, chocolate, citrus, alcohol, grape and licorice. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long licorice, chocolate and citrus fruity finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.
On tap at Den Gode Nabo, June 2014.
Hazy dark brown with no head. Sweet aroma and taste of roasted malt, caramel, dried fruit, alcohol and some hops. The body was big on this one. Not the best of beers.

On tap at Den Gode Nabo. A murky brown beer with some dark beige bubbles on top. The aroma is quite alcoholic, with some roasted malts, dark chocolate and quite a lot of piney, resiny hops. It’s warming and full bodied, with a low level of carbonation. Roasted malts, coffee hints, lots of pine cones and resins anda fine bitterness in the flavor. Lasting finish with bitterness and alcohol. Not a very successful one. Too warming, and generally quite messy. 140620 gunnar (9098) - Sandnes, NORWAY - JUN 19, 2014
On tap at Ujevnt, Bergen. Pours dark as Coke, with no head at all. Aroma is sweet liquorice and herbal lozenges. Taste is thick malty, cough syrup, sweet and short lived aftertaste, couldn´t finish this one, too sweet and one dimentional

Small bubbly longlasting head. Aroma is sweet hoppy, dark malts, sugar, sweet licorice, hops, rubber, thinner, grass, alcohol, coffee, leafs, toffee. Taste is very sweet, dark sugar, dark malts, grass, alcohol, hops, thinner, cardboard, burnt caramel, coffee, almond essence, licorice. Longlasting bitterness, harsh mouthfeel. Meh!
On tap @ Ujevnt. Well this doesn’t look very inviting. At all! A really dirty dark brown looking one, no head what so ever. Been a while since I’ve seen a beer that looks as bad as this. Let’s smell the ugly one. Hmm.. Yeah, that’s a bit better. Much better! It’s really licorice dark with lots and lots of sweet fruity hops. A big presence of fruity hops, strawberries and light leather. Quite nice. Yeah, it’s dead flat. What a shame. This tastes really unfinished. It’s quite sweet and it feels a bit like drinking cough syrup. Medicinal bitterness ss with lots of liquefied licorice. Almost like that awful Turkish Pepper spirit young people like to shot. Both salty and a little smoky as well. It ends with a good amount of both hops and warming sweet alcohol. I will finish the glass, but this is something I definitely won’t have again. What a shame.. A double IPA you say? I politely disagree. 11.04.2014 KL (57) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 27, 2014
Wow. This one is good. I normally do no like beer of this strength due to its alcoholic aftertaste. Here they almost managed to mask it with a fresh apperance followed by a full body of coffey, plum and chocolade. Its almost like a chrismas dessert. Dangerously good stuff.
