Bottle shared at the chriso and Ruth pre GBBF Tasting, 2017 Saturday edition. Cheers! Pours brown with a creamy, tan head. Toasted herbs in the nose, cocoa, earth. Moderately sweet, with nips of wintery spices, toasted bread. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with notes of burnt grains. Not bad. Bottle shared at Chris & Ruth’s pre-GBBF Shindig 2017 - Part 1. A clear dark reddish beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of cinnamon, red malt, spices, some dried fruits. Taste of spices, cinnamon, red fruits, dried fruits, interesting! adamnowek (3188) - Brussels, BELGIUM - JAN 8, 2017
Deep, dark cola brown. Strong aroma of cinnamon, gingerbread, and toffee. Taste is more of the same, but leaning more towards the cinnamon with a warm, boozy finish. NORSAND (109) - Lillestrøm, NORWAY - DEC 29, 2016
(Batch #450. Best before date 08/2018, purchased 12/2015 so assumedly bottled 08/2014)
Pours dark brown with small but persistent, off-white head.
Nose: Lovely Christmas nose with sweet malts, scandinavian gingerbread, coffee and a hint of liquorice.
Taste & Palate: More of the same (as on the nose); gingerbread, sweet malts, dark fruitcake, coffee and liquorice. Medium bodied, rich in carbonation. Just a hint of sweetness. Roasted malt and coffee aftertaste. Well balanced and a good and very "Christmassy" beer. erickok (6037) - Leuven, BELGIUM - DEC 25, 2016
Super Christmas like aroma of fruit and spice cake. Really beautiful body, balanced and smooth despite all those malts and alcohol. Very yummy! (33cl bottle from Saveur Bière, shared with Paul at Christmas)

Bottle bought in Bergen in September 2016. Dark brown with a tan head. On the sweet side with cinnamon, some herbs, malt, caramel and something that reminded of soap in the finish.

03.12.2016. 0,33l Bottle. Vinmonopolet Haugesund. Dark brown colour with off-white head. Unclear. Rich beer. Aroma of prunes and raisins. Lots of fruit and berries. Very rich beer with lots of aromas. Not som much oranges I think. Spises and alcohol. Very good beer. Soft malty with out too much bitterness. Good!! PeatyPete (1112) - NETHERLANDS - OCT 3, 2016
Brown colour with beige head. Herbal aroma. Taste is very herbal. Anise, licorice, ginger and other spices. blackisle (2761) - Amsterdam IJburg, NETHERLANDS - SEP 18, 2016
Bottle 33cl. Poured into a trappist glass. Opaque deep dark brown, small creamy beige head, mostly diminishing, minimal lacing; strong herbal/spicy nose, aroma roasted malts, anise, allspice, cinnamon, licorice, some caramel; bit sharpish taste, light heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, burned caramel, sugary, herbal/spicy – also retronasal; aftertaste medium dry roasted malty and spicy (ginger and anise), alcohol; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation; rather complex and rich strong ale but a bit off-balance and not completely convincing.
