2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
May have been a problem batch. Signs of autolysis/yeast stress in the aroma. Pity because there was a lot to like if you could get beyond that. Copper with a lavish centimetre of foam showing good length. The herbal aroma is marred by a burnt rubber taint, as if you were sniffing a bottle of Orval that had been run over repeatedly by a car doing doughnuts. Nice chewy body. Toffee malts and spiced apples. Some passionfruit and grapefruit from Pacific NW hops. Definite potential if they sort out the brewing issue. (Wentworth Falls bottlo)
355ml can into glass. Subdued hop nose, even a little malt present. Looks great, deep bronze beer with solid two finger white head. Light but steady carbonation. Good body, slight zing. Excellent malt taste with citric hop finish. Wow, this is good. Not trying to be an American Pale Ale (as I thought) but more a souped-up ESB. Really enjoyable. Can - pours Amber with a big dense white head. Floral, soapy and a hint of caramel malt. Sweet caramel malt, tempered by a dry hop finish...does what it says on the tin! Creamy palate. RafeAU (628) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAY 14, 2015
UPDATED: MAY 16, 2015 On tap at the durham. pours amber. big hop aroma and flavour with little of the malt sweetness or caramel that I like to get in an amber. it’s amber in colour but more of a hoppy pale ale in flavour. Nice anyway. Maris (1585) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - APR 10, 2015
From a 355ml bottle on 10/4/2015. Pours a clear medium amber with a small head. Has a nice floral, fruity hoppy aroma. In the mouth, it features some biscuity and caramel malt, a good dash of citrus fruit, some spices, and a nice big lingering hop kick. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation. This is a very nice brew - imo, much better than the ratings to date suggest. vanvenlo (1913) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - APR 5, 2015

Can. Clear amber with an off white head. Gentle aroma of caramel, grapefruit, some pine and spices. Sweet caramel, some soapy notes, grapefruit and spices. Moderate bitterness struggles through the sweetness. OK. jmgreenuk (9978) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - NOV 16, 2014
Can at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a frothy white head and a little lace. The aroma is woody resin light metallic hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a sharp resin hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Pyobon (1497) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - SEP 14, 2014
(Can) Clear reddish brown / dark amber with little loose head. Pleasant aroma with citrus and pine hop and some pepper spice. Medium body with reasonable carbonation. Toffee sweetness at the start with some balancing citrus, however hops quickly dominate right through to a decent long bitter finish. Overall pretty good, but seemed to lack some clarity or crispness to the hop flavours (or maybe I am being influenced by the fact it came in a can). mkel07 (6385) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - AUG 29, 2014
Can at Scratch Bar 280814. Pours a very dark amber almost copper red colour with a good layer of foam. There is some malt in the aroma but that’s where it ends. Quite an unusual flavour with a big hit of spice. Full in the mouth with a long lasting finish.
