UPDATED: JAN 31, 2018 500ml bottle. Slightly hazy golden yellow, effervescent bubbles and a foamy white head. Flavors are lemon, stone fruits, oak, funk, spices and lambic-like volatiles with vinous notes. Generous lactic acidity, slightly acetic. Light to medium body, good carbonation, slick texture.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2018 pours slightly hazy very light golden with a frothy and creamy white head offering good retention and lacing. lots of wine, wood, sublte spirits; fruity orcharness - fresh yet tart apricots, peaches as well, dried oranges, lots of spices as well, light spot-on acidity with a welcoming acetic touch, much alike lambic flora; wood dryness without being astringent. bright to moderate carbonation, light body, drying tart woody-citrusy finish. again, wood is fairly present but flora is quite complex and offers a large array of flavours. not like a crazy american sour - rather a solid tasty and complex barrel-aged wild saison.

Bouteille 500ml.

Very drinkable, tart and not too mouth puckering mixed fermentation. Thanks for hookup, Brian. Well executed and flavourful for the style.

(2405-211117)

500ml bottle from Halles St-Jean. Aroma: quite funky nose, lots of red wine notes (cherries), some peppery and woody notes as well. App: clear pale with small to medium white head leaving bubbly lacing. Taste and palate: light to medium body, winey, citrusy, lively carbonation, light to moderate extra dry finish. Overall: I must admit I stopped buying Avant-Garde a while ago since there are so many great breweries out there and didn't think they were standing out. This one will sure make buy beer from them more often. It's a really well done assembly. Great job guys.

Bottle from local iga grocery A: citrusy, nice funk, pleasant lactic notes, a touch of wood. App: hazy pale lasting smallish white head. T/p: thin to med with moderate long acidic finish. Moderate high carbonation. O: Really nice blend with just enough funk and presence of the barrel. It offers nice balance and good drinkabilty. Nicely done.

Bouteille - 500ml.
