We the Brewers of Avery Brewing Company, in order to form a more perfect ale, require a new leadership that can liberate us from our quagmires in foreign lands; embrace environmentally sound energy alternatives to imported oil; heal our ailing health care system; free us from tyrannical debt and resurrect the collapsing dollar. We hereby pledge to provide him or her with an ample amount of our Presidential Pale Ale to support in the struggle for the aforementioned goals! Hail to the New Chief!

Not an "Imperial" pale ale, this is a democracy. Its Presidential! Take the all-American pale ale, a bipartisan blend of malt and hops, increase to both Avery Brewing standards, and then, of course, dry hop the result with that most quintessential of American hops, Cascades, and you get this... Ale to the Chief. A brew worthy of the Oval Office! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, hops and yeast.

Big malt and big hops - that generally sums up Ale to the Chief. It pours amber/dark orange. Its hazy and has an off-white layer of foam. Dank pine needle aroma and wet fallen leaf aromas. Flavor is similar to many beers that bear the American Strong Ale designation. Caramel malts at the start. Happily that caramel note is clear but not overly sweet. The same can be said for the hop profile; the hops are assertive but not so bitter as to be a bracing, stark contrast to the fat malts. They have floral, piney, leafy, zesty, and tea-like qualities. As a whole, you could call the Cascade influence "earthy." Again, that would sum things up quite nicely.

A clear, deep reddish-gold pour with a frothy white head with excellent lacing. The aroma has spicy hops with a malty backbone. It has a medium body with slick texture with average carbonation. The taste bittersweet with a slightly bitter finish and alcohol warmth.

Amber color. Thin,off-white head. Aroma of malt, honey and pine. Sweet malt dominates in taste.Full and "heavy" body. Hoppy bitterness at the end compensates sweetness a little bit. Good beer, but too sweet for me.

Chucks 85th, Seattle. Darker mahogany, a bit of a haze. Lighter gray cream. Banana, chico-banana candy from Ex-YU. Strong body, banana amber. A bit heavy, syrup hoppy malt. Very solid, something different that what we see here in PNW.

draft that poured a copper orange with whitish head. thinking this was a dipa and not an old ale makes more sense now. at first I thought I was a syrupy hop juice with a solid malt backbone. but the old ale makes more sense in the fact that it is driven by a strong malt offering in order to hold the hops and hints of honey. it was still syrupy sweet but its the style. overall drinkable for one.

Bottle to celabrate Erica coming home! Pours a hazy honey colored amber with a foamy kahki head that lasts and lacing. Aroma is sweet sugary caramel with a mix of citrus and pine. Taste is soft bitterness with a really nice caramel mix that includes some nuts, toffee, lemon and pine. Palate is medium to full with a creamy body that leaves a dry finish.
