3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
bottle, sampled at the rbesg07 grand tasting in sunny glasgow. a rich shade of brown with a reddish tinge and a steady beige head; big cookie dough aroma with hints of rum’n’raisin ice cream; hints of cocoa powder and icing sugar flavours and plenty of bitterness. more drinkable than the other high abv avery beers i’ve tried
Bottle from my cellar.
The pour is dark, almost opaque deep brown with garnet highlights. Medium sized tan head.
The aroma has molasses and raisins and a touch of alcohol.
The flavor is sweet, but not cloying and follows the aroma. The alcohol in the aroma is hidden in the flavor. This has held up well. snoworsummer (5697) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - AUG 9, 2015
