Goo. This beer is fantabulous. If you’re a fan of the saison style (and I very much am), you have got to give this beer a shot. Yeah, it’s light on the palate, but oh so spicy. If you have a Mellow Mushroom nearby, they might have it on tap, which is the way to get this one. LtDan (1806) - Los Angeles County, California, USA - JUN 7, 2009
Appearance: Pours a pastel yellow with an active, densly foamy white head. Visable rising carbonation is seen in the body.
Aroma: After a vigorous pour into my glass, I could smell this sucker from a foot away. I got a huge whiff of must, dust, wet ground on a rainy day right off the bat. Upon a closer inspection, I found spice, citrus, spicy hops and a mixture of funky and bready yeast.
Taste: Bready malts, lemon and orange juice, spicy bitter Euro hops, cloves, banana. Finishes with a lingering citrus zest and pepperyness.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied, very fizzy.
Overall: Way way better on the palate than Fifteen, and a classic beer in it’s own right. This is a farmhouse/Saison on Steroids. Tons of stuff going on in the aroma and taste. jmcguire1969 (162) - Lafayette, Colorado, USA - JUN 10, 2009
I realy enjoyed this beer. Avery has done some pretty wacky things with their anniversary editions but this one was refined and tasteful. Like "Twelve" this had the classic lines and body of a Saison but not as over powering as "Twelve". They should at least put a Saison in their seasonal line up...please! mike5326 (1741) - virginia beach, Virginia, USA - MAY 16, 2010
Its aroma hits you initially. It has a pleasent fruity smell. It has a crisp clean look of a Belgium. It also has a great clean crisp taste of a great bear. Aubrey (3516) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - JUN 16, 2009
Pours bright golden with a frothy head. Its inviting smell is like a spring meadow filled with wildflowers. The mouthfeel is light and creamy with a sprightly carbonation. The Saison Dupont yeast provides a variety of bold, fruity-spicy esters such as faint banana, clove and white pepper. With each sip, more aromas unveil themselves. I think of fresh-cut herbs, tea, flower petals and honey. The malt side of the beer is mild yet balanced. Flavors of water crackers, crusty bread and honey come through, providing a solid backbone to the beer’s bouquet of aromas, slight tartness and spicy bitterness. The peach addition in the beer is mild, and it’s far from your typical "fruit" beer. But it does have a wholesome, earthy, peach-accented quality that brings me back to my younger days when I explored peach orchards near my mom’s house in northern California. The beer finishes dry with a snappy, hoppy bitterness that blends effortlessly with the spices and aromas. Refreshing beer.

Pours yellow into the glass with a fizzy white head. Aroma is somewhat sour and spicy with notes of fruit and pepper. Flavor is wonderfully smooth with a perfect amount of carbonation for the style. The signature saison style yeast is the major player here in the flavor giving fruitiness and an appropriate amount of a phenolic medicinal quality. Really love this beer just wish it came a few bucks cheaper. Good work from the guys at Avery! dcschiller (2208) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - APR 29, 2010
(bottle). Pours beautiful yellow-honey colored liquid with white head. Aroma of spice and fruit. Taste is sweet, prickly on the tongue. Some bitternes, but the honey mellows things out for a very nice smooth finish. This is a very nice beer. williamherbert (1541) - Syracuse, New York, USA - AUG 5, 2010
The aroma is orange peel, citrus and champagne alcohol. Really good.
Appears cloudy pineapple yellow. Medium head. Carbonation is excellent.
The flavor is champagne with Belgian tripel spice. Heavy citrus. There is a lot of alcohol; warming. The musty horseblanket is there but works with the citrus.
The palate is creamy and very bubbly. Overall, lots of fizzy Belgian spice with an earthy balance and a citrusy hit. A really outstanding beer. KornDogg (570) - Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 2, 2010
Bottle at Max’s Taphouse. Jasmine and fruit aroma. Hazy yellow body with thin head. Flavor is filled with Citrus, Pine, Jasmine balanced with wheat, hops and yeast. Dry finish with a clove aftertaste. RSRIZZO (1984) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - JUN 28, 2009
Color is a light yellow gold with good carbonation and a thick white head. Aroma is spicy with some fruit notes in the back. Taste is spicy and fruity. Starting with a light/medium it goes down smooth, almost a creamy feel. Finish comes in spicy with coriander, pepper, hops and a hint of the jasmine, then a little lemon shows before a mellow sweetness comes in with a honey flavor. In the after taste a very mild bitterness rolls in letting the honey taste fade into a light peach flavor. Overall this is a very good Saison, very well balanced with a bright and complex spicy flavor.
