Vinous sour smell dominates the aroma. Taste is very pucker sour. Think the Granny Smith apples really bring it out. Balances well though with being so sour. Apple is subtle enough and sweet is well balanced with the sour.

12 months in an oak barrel, with Granny Smith apples added for the last 6 months. The Granny Smiths are very very sour, one of my favorite sours. A sweet beer overall, light appearance with orange; thin head. Be prepared for the initial hit of sour. dogfish120love (1339) - Westfield, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 11, 2013
Pours orange with a white lacing. The aroma is very apple forward with hints of oak. Very sour very good.

From tap at The Monks Kettle during "United Sours of America"
Hazy darker golden with a small head. Nice aroma and taste of apples, oak and fairly light funk. Not that sour but refreshing and nicely drinkable. I would not mind to drink this again.

On draft at Avery taproom. Holy Sh$t!!! This was one awesome sour. Sour apple aroma/flavors pretty much dominate this entire beer, but I’m cool with it. DesertDevil (699) - Arizona, USA - JAN 20, 2014
Taster during an Avery tap takeover at the Attic. A pungent sour and fruity aroma with a ton of green apple, old oak funk, and high acidity. Slightly hazy mandarin orange. Mouth-puckering sour taste with tart green apple, lemon juice, and wheat. Very prickly palate, dry astringent finish. Good stuff. djd07 (15330) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 23, 2016
On tap at Freshcraft. Pours a dark ruby with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is strong apple skin, oak, yogurt. Thin mouth, tart apple, oak, vanilla, light acidity, very nice.
