At the brewery. . brettastic! .. Clean and funkee .. very nice, i finish the whole sample mark you moron .. . Good beer, very interesting .. Cute as a puppy called Ralph .. . Ralph is so adorable! I used to do the same thing before I had to get rid of my dog, but with protein shakes. He got really ripped and blasted my mom’s legs out from under her once by barking in her direction. arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - MAY 14, 2015
Pour on tap at the brewery, clear orange almost red pour with white head, aroma brought notes of bread, dough, funky earth, slight lacto, lemony notes into a bit of tart fruits, some bretty, yeasty notes as well. Taste was a mix of tart lemon, lacto, some bread, biscuit into a bit of caramel, some yeast into some doughy notes with some nice funky, earthy notes, finishing fairly tart. Pretty nicely done. Sample at the new brewery. The beer is a clear dark orange color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of oak, tart fruit and yeast. Light to medium body with flavors of funky fruit, oak and earthy yeast. The finish is moderately tart with an oaky and citrusy aftertaste. Pretty good overall. Oaky woody lactic aroma and taste. Maybe 5 of 10 sour. Dry finish. Not sweet. Full flavored, but very drinkable not overly sour, sour. Quite nice. Lighter color, like a soured golden (Belgian pale ale apparently).

Tap. Pours clear orange with white head. Aroma is sour, lime, lots of fruitiness. Taste is light-bodied, crisp, very lime, medium carbonation. Overall, nice.

Weak odor. The taste is good. Typical Belgian beer. Decent aftertaste. An okay beer to drink but not much more. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings Kevin (2201) - Montana, USA - MAR 12, 2012
one of those happy surprises. darkish body that is mostly brown with a thin head that does not last. the brettish nose that is both disgusting and one of the most inviting at the same time. promises a band aid or tart greatness. ahh yes, tart greatness. how can something that tastes like leather, blended with citrus and grapes be good? i’m just glad it is. brett notes linger long after in the finish. now i have to clarify when i say the only avery beer i won’t drink is karma, not bad karma, but regular karma. regular karma is bad, bad karma is good. on tap at Falling Rock during GABF week on 9/30/11. definitely a sour / wild. dark orange pour with no head. brett, oak and cherry nose. full body with more brett, lactic acid and tart cherry notes. dry tart finish. another great sour from Avery! douglas88 (9624) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 3, 2011
On tap during GABF at Falling Rock. Not sure about the Belgian Ale listing- this is pretty wild. Pours a copper/red color with no head. The aroma is sweet oaky, fruit, some light yeast. The flavor is very tart with loads of vinegar, berries, earthy dusty tartness, low carbonation, despite being quite tart very mellow. Enjoyable.
