Opaque black beer. Lovely nose of woody red wine and sourness. Light semi crisp palate. Light fruity sourness with a hint of red wine. A little sweet lacto malt in the background. Finishes lightly sour and a little dry. Lovely light sour beer. Very drinkable. One of the best of this style!
Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of bu11zeye. Pours a clear dark brown with a reddish hue and a small off-white head. Extremely enticing aroma of Brett and lacto. Medium body, dry roasted maltiness with an edge of tart overripe fruit with a distinct dry Brettiness in the finish. Very interesting. 231109

The color is almost coffee black; medium sized, beige head. The aroma is quite complex, with roasted malts, red wine, cream, Bretts, lightly fruity; finally chocolate. The body has a good strength, and the mouthfeel is quite round; there is a strong chocolate flavor, with roasted and burnt malts; as in other beers (Alvinne for example), the heavily roasted malts don’t marry well the sourness and the vinous touch, the result lacks of harmony; the final shows some drier roasted malts. Confusing, not convincing.
12 oz. bottle at Brouwer’s Cafe, pours a dark, dark brown / black with a reddish tinge and a small tan head. Aroma of brett, sour funk and red wine. Flavour of sour fruits, chocolate notes, rum and red wine barrels, as well as brett. Full-bodied with a malty, sour finish. Good, but overrated.
