Bottle, 2012 vintage. Vinous red wine aroma with notes of tart cherry, oak, Brett and little bit of bourbon and oak. Pours dark brown colored with a very thin tan head that has poor retention and a very thin ring of lacing. Starts with vinous red wine and some tart cherry flavors. Finishes dry with notes of Brett, oak and bourbon that are quickly overpowered by the dry red wine flavors that coats the palate. Pretty nice sour. ajnepple (6821) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 15, 2016
12 oz bottle shared, purchased at Mr. B’s Wine & Spirits. Reddish brown and clear in appearance with a fully dissipating head. Aroma of wine, dark fruits, esters, tart sour notes, oak and light vanilla. Similar flavor, vinous, fruity, tart and sour with mild barrel notes and hints of bourbon and alcohol. Medium body with soft carbonation, a puckering mouth feel and an acidic sour finish. This has age quite nicely. b3shine (9010) - Indiana, USA - DEC 13, 2015
Bottle to snifter (shared with the Mrs; thanks arminjewell). Looks solid; a cloudy dark amberish brown with beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells malty and oaky with a moderate acetone presence alongside notes of vinegar. Tastes like it smells with a mild vinous presence as well. The acedone is fairly hidden when cold, but comes out as the beer warms and opens up. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full-bodied. Not good. BiiruBierBeer (1056) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - JAN 3, 2015
I can’t smell anything from this bottle. Nice sour brown taste to it. Very solid sour, but I’ve had many like it. djd07 (15256) - Houston, Texas, USA - DEC 29, 2014
Bottle thanks to Tom. Pours a clear copper with no head. The aroma is dark fruit, vinegar, wood. Thin mouthfeel with very sour vinegar, dark fruit, wood. Good.

From notes. Tasted some time near the summer of 2012 from a capped 12oz bottle. Pours clear dark brown with an average white head that leaves a thin collar of lace. The nose is super sour lemon vinegar with nice toasty chocolate malt and some dark cereal. The flavor is the same sour attack up front, moving to the dry chocolate malt. The body is medium and quite tannic with just under average carbonation and a long, very sour and toasted malt finish. radagast83 (8191) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - DEC 2, 2014
12oz bottle thanks to BeerandBlues2. Poured a light hazy ruby color with a small tan head. Aroma was notes of brown sugar, light acidic notes. Flavor was light dark fruits, tart sour cherries, touch of rum and bourbon notes in this one. Alcohol was nice and mellow, tartness was tasty. Light vinous notes. Bottle courtesy of BeerandBlues2, thank you sir! Clear brown color, tan head. Aroma of sourdough brownies, brandied cherries. Taste is softly sour plums, prunes. Very tasty. slowrunner77 (12451) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 24, 2014
"3500 baby! This sour ale was significantly sour and acidic, as most of Avery’s sours have been. Dark malts and all kinds of barrel complexity, all complementing the base beer. Some vinous notes from the red wine, and more bourbon presence than the others, though I’m sure we’d be able to tell if they were absent."

Bottle from Tap & Handle. Pours dark brown with a tiny beige head and a sour fruit aroma. There is a magnificent sour brown flavor with a lot of substance and a lot of sour. Almost, but not quite puckeringly sour.
