Reddish pour out of Bottle as a gift for the wife from fellow Rateberr-er Daknole.. Aroma of berries, tart grapes, red wine vinegar, lactic sourness. Fruity and sour flavors. Pleasantly tart and acidic with a nice raspberry flavor. Avery really knocked this out the park, one of my favorite sours.

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours hazy ruddy brown with a transient tan head. Aroma of old ale, old raspberries and old wood. And does somewhat smell like cab grapes. Med body or so. Flavor is somewhat tart/sour raspberry with oak astringency and some cab grape. Maybe there’s a slight fustiness with the wood. It has aged nicely.

2012 Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours dark brown with a transient tan head and a grapey aroma. There is a moderately sour dark malt flavor with a tart raspberry finish.

Bottle pour at home, dark amber pour, sour tart raspberry aroma, smooth oak tart raspberry. Nice beer overall glad it held up.

12 oz bottle. Deep brown with splotchy foam. Nose is sour raspberry, funky wood and cabernet with jammy notes in the back. Sharp and fizzy medium body with a sour, throaty burn. Taste is sour red berries, lemon juice and funk, slightly vinous. Lacking depth; maybe past its prime.

Tasted on 11/16/13 from a capped 12oz bottle at our Avery Barrel-Aged tasting. Pours clear bright auburn with some thin off-white lace. The nose is sour raspberry, very vinous, with some light malt and cinnamon oak. The flavor is more fresh raspberry and cinnamon oak than on the nose with the same vinous and light malt notes. The body is full with sticky tannin, average carbonation and a long sour vinous raspberry finish.

Courtesy Secret Santa 2014. You are my new best friend. In the close to 9 years I’ve been on here rating beer, I’ve had an OCD about giving a perfect score in any category. My perfect score was a 4.5 by giving just under the highest score in each category. At last I must break that tradition. This beer may be the best beer I’ve ever had. Aroma was strongly vinous and vinegary with a light raspberry background. Pour was a beautiful murky dark brown in the middle with dark red around the edges. Taste was mind blowing AND I MEAN MINDBLOWINGly sour. The sourness literally made me pucker my lips for a second. Strong raspberry, vinegar and just a hint of sour grape skins. Nice carbonation for the style. I could write another paragraph but I gotta finish this gem.

Nice sour smell with hints of the raspberry. Delicious raspberry sour taste. The raspberry flavor comes out very nicely on this one.

Lots of bretta, lots of dark sour plum. Pours clear maroon with good head and lacing. Raspberry tang prominent here and good dose of wine. A little mouth puckering and tangy on finish, the aging has done this well I imagine. Bottle pour from Churchkey’s 5th anniversary, thanks to Jackl for sharing this.

Bottle @ CK. amber with a small head. Nose is raspberry, grape, wood. Salt. Sort of vinous. Taste is quite acetic. Balsamic vinegar. Berry skin. Salted mashed grape and cherry. Light body, soft carbonation. Good.
