12 oz bottle. Deep brown with splotchy foam. Nose is sour raspberry, funky wood and cabernet with jammy notes in the back. Sharp and fizzy medium body with a sour, throaty burn. Taste is sour red berries, lemon juice and funk, slightly vinous. Lacking depth; maybe past its prime. wedgie9 (2702) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 4, 2015
Tasted on 11/16/13 from a capped 12oz bottle at our Avery Barrel-Aged tasting. Pours clear bright auburn with some thin off-white lace. The nose is sour raspberry, very vinous, with some light malt and cinnamon oak. The flavor is more fresh raspberry and cinnamon oak than on the nose with the same vinous and light malt notes. The body is full with sticky tannin, average carbonation and a long sour vinous raspberry finish. LinusStick (3461) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 9, 2015
Courtesy Secret Santa 2014. You are my new best friend. In the close to 9 years I’ve been on here rating beer, I’ve had an OCD about giving a perfect score in any category. My perfect score was a 4.5 by giving just under the highest score in each category. At last I must break that tradition. This beer may be the best beer I’ve ever had. Aroma was strongly vinous and vinegary with a light raspberry background. Pour was a beautiful murky dark brown in the middle with dark red around the edges. Taste was mind blowing AND I MEAN MINDBLOWINGly sour. The sourness literally made me pucker my lips for a second. Strong raspberry, vinegar and just a hint of sour grape skins. Nice carbonation for the style. I could write another paragraph but I gotta finish this gem. BiiruBierBeer (1049) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - JAN 3, 2015
Nice sour smell with hints of the raspberry. Delicious raspberry sour taste. The raspberry flavor comes out very nicely on this one. solidfunk (8954) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - OCT 27, 2014
Lots of bretta, lots of dark sour plum. Pours clear maroon with good head and lacing. Raspberry tang prominent here and good dose of wine. A little mouth puckering and tangy on finish, the aging has done this well I imagine. Bottle pour from Churchkey’s 5th anniversary, thanks to Jackl for sharing this.

Bottle @ CK. amber with a small head. Nose is raspberry, grape, wood. Salt. Sort of vinous. Taste is quite acetic. Balsamic vinegar. Berry skin. Salted mashed grape and cherry. Light body, soft carbonation. Good. Danyel (1606) - Colorado, USA - SEP 20, 2014
Bottle. Pours orange with white head. Aroma is very winey, fruity, oak. Taste is sour, lots of wine. Overall, delicious. beechner224 (1024) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - AUG 30, 2014
Bottleshare thanks to Dexercat. Pours a dark amber, white head. Aroma is fruity, cherry, fruity, yummy. Taste is light bodied, tasty, sour, tart, still get cherry and dark fruits. Really tasty, mverity (294) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 19, 2014
Pours a mahogany with more red than typically seen. Fair lacing and great legs. Aroma is tart raspberry, lightly earthy-woody with some grassy-floral as well. Taste is mostly the berry, with some of the musty yeast character and rich earth from the cab sauv. High carbonation but a bit lack luster on the tongue in terms of body, and I like a higher carb bite in sours. Very good beer though. olio (10272) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 19, 2014
355 ml bottle. Bottled on 21.09.2012.
Pours dark mahogany color with a small head. Cherries, raspberries and lots of wood on the nose. Fruity and crisp flavor with cherries and raspberries, some sour notes, also lactic notes, barrel notes not present. Nice and sour but the balance is a bit off.
