pours a nice golden color with lots a bubbles.. think a cross between chardonnay and champagne. I’m getting a lot of buttered popcorn like in a big buttery chardonnay.. Real tasty but I think age will do this beer good. WIll be aging my 2nd bottle for a bit.
Bottle sample from FoBAB 13 from notes. Pours a golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have tart fruits, white grape, stone fruit, oak, buttery, tart/sour grew, doughy, not outstanding but very solid. redlight (2325) - Orlando, Florida, USA - SEP 9, 2015
Sweet vanilla and oak on the nose. Pours slightly hazy blonde with little head in a Teku glass. Small streams of bubbles do cascade up though. Oak up front, chardonnay fruit flavors, fruit acidity as well as some lactic acidity comes through. Hints of vanilla and hints of tannin, smooth up front with some sharpness in the middle, but finishes smooth as well. Not overly acidic, grape must and oak balance the acidity well. Very nice. Notes from Churchkey Avery Cellar event. 2013 bottle->snifter. Clear gold with small white head. Flora, yeast, grape must, oak. Funky, but not in a good way. Not a big fan. Errl (2577) - Plano, Texas, USA - JUL 6, 2015

Bottle @ home. Clear golden colored beer with some white foam. White grape and funky diesel on the nose. Slightly cheesy. Definitely on the funky side. Flavor is kind of lemony, tangy, and funky. Some orange, lemon, and vanilla. Kind of a vanilla sugar on the finish. A slight booziness.

Tasted on 11/16/13 from a capped 12oz bottle at our Avery Barrel-Aged tasting. Pours hazy pale yellow with a thin white head that leaves a very thin collar. The nose is wheat malt and some nutty, buttery, vinous notes. The flavor is a bit sweet with more oak and butter, nutty wheat malt, with some wheat malt and sourness. The body is full with average carbonation and a medium oaky Chardonnay finish. BiiruBierBeer (1059) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - JAN 3, 2015
Chardonnay smell. Buttery chardonnay and yeasty taste which was surprisingly pretty awesome. solidfunk (9407) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - DEC 18, 2014
Very well balanced. Only a hint of barrel in this - just enough to put an edge of oak here. Golden pour without much head or lacing. Some florals, with light bretta. Delightfully tangy finish with a little sweetness. Some apricot, a little apple. Bottle pour at Churchkey feature event. mcberko (18979) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 30, 2014
12 oz. bottle, pours a clear pale yellow with a small quickly-dissipating white head. Aroma brings out lots of grape must, white wine and a little oak. Flavour is very dry, vinous and complex, with loads of white wine barrels, followed by grape must and the oak - a little funk too. Hugely vinous, which is what characterizes this, though without being monochromatic. A great one from Avery. jcnielsen (3416) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUL 11, 2014
Bottle. Pours a light golden color with white head. Funk, oats, white wine, oak aromas. Funky, white wine, grapes, green apple flavors. Enjoyed this one, a cool beer by Avery
