Bottle. Vinous aroma with notes of cherry, apple, some vinegar and oak. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head with poor retention and no lacing. Starts with tart flavors of cherry as well as some apple to go with the lively mouthfeel due to the carbonation. Finishes like a dry red wine with sour vinegar and some oak. Extremely nice sour that aged really well.

Love this sour. Not too tart, or salty. Very light in flavor and very smooth. Pours a cherry color. Tasty

12oz in trade from Rightcross55, thanks Matt. Dark brown pour with almost no head. Strong sour vinegar and wood aroma. Taste follows, a little acidic, starts sour, finish with the dry wine characteristic. Very balanced and delicious. Well done Avery!

12 ounce bottle
The final beer in the flight took things in a direction that I can still taste to this day. Like a bottle of soured wine it mixes aspects of a traditional American sour with features that will have your wine drinking friends running in terror.

Aroma / Appearance - A rich chocolate colored head sits idly below a bubbly head that soon fades. Merlot or chardonnay left so long it has begun the transition to cooking vinegar rises upwards with an acidic defiance that sets the tone.

Flavor / Palate - Oak, malt vinegar, cherries, and then waves of dry vinous acidity blanket the tongue in sour bliss. The clean finish makes this the most palatable of the three samples although I wouldn’t want to tackle much more than 12 ounces in a single sitting even if it wasn’t upwards of $6.99 a bottle.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Alexey’s place. Deep reddish amber-brown. Great aroma of oak, cherries, wine, some vinegar, cobwebs, malt, caramel. Sour and slightly sweetish flavor with caramel, fruits, vinegar, wine, oak, cobwebs. Medium-bodied. Really good stuff.
