Aromas of red wine, light brine, red berry. Slightly hazy bronze with a fairly lasting white head. Winey, lightly sour. Medium-full bodied.

Unexpectedly sweet malt nose backed up by sour yeast and hints of cab. Looks are okay, pouring a clear reddish-brown with a slight head and no lace. Not a bad sour by any means, but seems to be lacking in any prevailing trait other than its powerful sourness. Cabernet notes are apparent, along with hints of oak and vanilla struggling mightily against the super-strong citric-berry tartness, yet the tequilas a no-show, maybe showing up for the slightest bit of herbal bitterness on the finish. Mostly just an out-and-out sour bomb, not a bad thing, but not whats expected from all the fancy barrel-aging.

Dark amber, light foam small bubbles, gently sparkling after confusion. Aroma barrel, teqila present, wine present. In taste, strongly acidic, lactose. Velvety, catchy. It is a bit of bitterness at the end of tongue. Unfortunately the barrel later drops off somewhere.

From notes. Somehow this drinking session evaded my developments. Enjoyed at Dougs house on October 28. 12 oz bottle. The pour is a nice mahogany color with a lighter bit of ruby shining through and a small egg shell colored head that fizzes away pretty quickly. The aroma is pretty sour right up front. There is a well-balanced oak throughout without a lot of wine or tequila character coming through. The malts come through a bit and I think there is a hint of light tart fruit. Its lightly sour, but nothing thats really overdone. The flavor is similar. The maltiness and barrel characters are really all thats there without a discerning liquid from the barrel. The light fruit balances out and keeps you interested. Its sour, but not overly so. The mouth feel is light and crisp with a bright carbonation and a lingeringly woody sour finish. This is really interesting.

12 oz bottle, bottled on 2/12/16. Pours dark ruby amber with a fizzy light tan head that retains fairly well and leaves little lacing.

The aroma is floral vanilla with tart vinous fruits and some funk.

The flavor is lots of sweet and tart fruity sour with a vinous finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with some prickly carbonation.

Overall, its interesting with lots of sweet tart fruit and vinous notes from the wine. I didnt pick up much tequila.

This beer is a slightly hazy reddish-mahogany color with a thin off-white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of oak, tart fruit and yeast. Light-bodied with a vinous oak character and notes of tart berries, yeast and subtle tequila. The finish is moderately sour with a grape and tequila aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
