COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Stout aged in bourbon barrels with coffee, cocoa, cocoa nibs, and vanilla bean added. She was twerking well before the word was in our vernacular. A true trailblazer. A mover and a shaker of monumental proportions. Our muse and inspiration for this full-bodied, bodacious, and well-rounded stout. You know we love big stouts and we cannot lie!

Nice balance here. This dark brown decadent elixr drinks easy(ish) for a 17%er. I'd have guessed lower. Nice barrel notes, with a good balance of cocoa and vanilla. Malty and sweet. Smooth.

Pours a two finger light brown head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Black color, no highlights. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Bourbon, vanilla and coffee nose and flavor follows, bourbon, oak, coffee, hops are hidden. Very high ABV, 17.4%, is noticeable but not overpowering. Expensive at $14.95 for a 12oz bottle, bottled 4/25/2016 from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

Mooch tasting at Matt's
Black color, pours light, the head disappears quickly. Aroma of dark chocolate shavings and vanilla. Good combination of chocolate and vanilla, the alcohol reduces the sweetness feeling and highlights the chocolate, burning alcohol feeling. Barrel. Some liquorice.
Excessive, excellent.

330ml bottle @ Matt’s. Pours opaque black with a small tan head. Nose is bourbon, barrels, cocoa, some vanilla. The nose is delicious unto it’s own. Flavour is upfront sweet bourbon and dark chocolate with subtle vanilla. It then fades a to a bitter chocolate warming finish. For the abv it’s rather smooth, however it’s not as delicious as how it comes off on the nose.

Bottle - Boozy bourbon notes. Deep brown with a small white head. Fudge dark chocolate, harsh barrel and vanilla notes. A bit rough and disjointed, sweet, bitter and booze.

Oakes (19013) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 23, 2017
Dark brown. No head. Sweet, mapley, figgy, chocolate aroma is rich and decadent. On the palate, chocolate, mapley, rich and alcoholic, but with a big whack of sweetness to carry it across the palate. Warming finish with a nice sweetness. Complex. Nice brew.

12 oz. bottle, sent from wchesser (thanks a lot, Will!), pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is loaded with coffee, cocoa nibs, vanilla and bourbon barrels in good balance. Flavour is loaded with bourbon barrels and heaps of vanilla beans, followed by lots of coffee and a touch of cocoa nibs. Complex as hell, with a wonderfully rounded body that brings out lovely bourbon character. Elegant and deep. Fantastic.

Davros (3310) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUL 11, 2017
Pours black with a small head.
Nose shows cocoa, chocolate fudge, toffee, soft booze, coconut, nutty malt.
Flavours include booze, chocolate, heavy roasted malt, bourbon and vanilla. Pretty boozy.

Aroma bourbon, chocolate, alcohol,
Appearance black, tan foam, brown foam,
Taste heavy sweetness, lightly bitter,
Palate full body,
Overall a little too big of a beer for me. I know it’s a 17.4% beer but it’s a lot of alcohol on the back of the palate. Still lots of roasted notes with chocolate. Great beer to share with a friend. That being said I would not suggest this beer to a friend.

Bottle at Flying Saucer Houston. Black with a tan head. Big aroma of bourbon barrel, chocolate, roast, coffee and vanilla, but little booze. Tastes a lot boozier; sweet, rich, roasty and plenty bitter. Full bodied and creamy smooth. Very nice.
