STOUT AGED IN BOURBON BARRELS WITH CACAO NIBS, VANILLA BEANS, CHILES AND CINNAMON ADDED. We’ve been thinking long and hard about one of our all-time favorites and how to put our personal lil twist on it. Or is this a big twist? Hmmm. We’ll have to think, and drink, on that one.

Lubiere (14151) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 25, 2017
A deep dark stout with a thin light mocha head. In aroma, beautiful sweet chocolate malt with light chili and light vanilla extract, alcohol warmth, very nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with light chili notes, light vanilla, licorice notes, very nice. Bottle from Pushkinwow.

Bottle from Capones. Dark brown with a faint mocha head that mostly fades away to a thin ring. Vanilla, sweet chocolate malts, some bourbon, bit of oak, cinnamon but all cut (for good or for bad) with dried green chilli seeds and some husk, then booze. Moderate+ carbonation and full body, semi sweet, chocolate, malty, bit dry with mild heat on the finish. Chillies don’t overwhelm and in some ways balance out what might have been too much cloying, interesting experiment for sure.

Bottle. Pours a pitch black beer with a very small beige head on top. Aroma has lots of roasted malts, cinnamon and molasses. Also a big oaky presence in there in the background of the aroma. Flavor is the perfect balance between all the different spices and stout characters. Everything is in there, well balanced and nothing too overpowering. Moutfheel is a bit thin and watery, soft carbonation, yet long in syrupy sweet roastt aftertaste. Nice stuff!

Bien faite!

Bottle pour at home, happy opening day. Pour into Avery signature barrel glass. Black pour thin head. Coco and coffee bourbon aroma, flavor is a little sweet and malty, oak bourbon licorice, can’t say I really taste the cinnamon, but there were a little spice nots. These guys never disappoint with the barrel series.

12 oz bottle from Ratman! Nose is vanilla, chocolate, with light amounts of bourbon, wood and chilies. Black with a small lightly lacing cinnamon tan head. Flavor is moderately sweet dark chocolate, vanilla, and a nice light amount of pepperiness that gently licks your tongue. Excellent! Thanks for the bottle Don.

12 oz. bottle thanks to T.J. May 2016 vintage. Glad you spent the money for this. Too rich for my blood! Thanks dog!

No head on a pitch black liquid. The aroma is pepper up front, light vanilla, cinnamon, chocolate.

The flavor is what it should be. Yes again, cinnamon, light vanilla, and plenty of chiles. Oily texture over the palate. Body is medium plus with a mild chili heat. Thankful that the pepper heat is mild.

Pours black in color with a white head. Boozy cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate aroma. Thick and sweet, chocolately with strong vanilla Bourbon booze character and a nice significant chili burn in the finish. Cinnamon is in there but get gets eclipsed a bit by the chilies. Notes: On tap at the Aces and Ales Big Ass Barrel Aged Beer Bonanza Bonanza Blowout (Feb ’17)
