aromoa is of bourbon and some smokiness. flavor is well balanced, sweet, bourbon, and smokey ham. really easy to drink versus the abv. pours black with a thin tan head. had out of a 12 oz bottle at home. emusche (209) - Wisconsin, USA - OCT 6, 2016
Pours black with a thin, but sticky, tan head. Aroma is big bourbon, getting some vanilla bean and cacao too, some alcohol wafts off the top as well. Taste is bourbon, sweet vanilla, cinnamon, burn of the chiles at the back of the throat, and just a bit of that turn-your-head-booziness as well. Delicious. August 2016 - Bottle share on level 42, with thanks to Leighton. As ’Avery Xolotl’, 13.7%. Opaque black with a foamy brown head. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, coconut. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is vanilla, spicy chocolate syrup, drying harsh booziness. Rich and tasty but tangy harsh booze. Some very nice aspects just too harsh. Pours black into a tulip. Mocha head with excellent retention recedes leaving spot lacing to coat surface. Chocolate and vanilla aromas. Sweet cinnamon and chocolate upfront turning to warming bourbon before the lasting vanilla and chile burn. Interesting how the ingredients show themselves at different times... arkurzynski (2446) - Combined Locks, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 16, 2016
Deep brown. Sweet chocolatey roast with faint vanilla, cinnamon and pepper. Flavor is chocolate with light roast and faint cinnamon/vanilla. Lingering mild heat. Dissapointing.

5 oz from tap into sniffer at Churchkey in DC. Really tasty, but honestly it tastes like a less-well-balanced Prairie Bomb. Vanilla comes strong on the front with some malt and a hint if the cocoa. Finish is lightly spicy then heavy booze then moderate spice. The type of beer I want to drink by the campfire while watching the snow fall around me in December. jc1762 (1484) - Washington DC, USA - SEP 8, 2016
Tap into a snifter showing pitch black with no head.
The nose is exactly like hot cocoa. This is great.
The palate is light bodied and lightly carbonated. Flavors of dry milk chocolate or hot cocoa and a slightly alcohol spice. Not much else. solidfunk (9018) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - SEP 7, 2016
Some chili and vanilla. Black pour with ok head and lacing. Light bourbon. Only tastes like a 14% beer, not a 17% beer. Tap at Churchkey.
