STOUT AGED IN BOURBON BARRELS WITH CACAO NIBS, VANILLA BEANS, CHILES AND CINNAMON ADDED. Weve been thinking long and hard about one of our all-time favorites and how to put our personal lil twist on it. Or is this a big twist? Hmmm. Well have to think, and drink, on that one.

Bottle courtesy cwsample. Pours black, opaque. Tan head. Aroma is very rich. Malt and molasses, bourbon, wood, vanilla, dark fruit. Super complex. Flavor is rich as well. Roasted grain, bourbon and dark chocolate. A distinct pepper heat can be felt on the finish. The alcohol level also provides some heat. Full bodied. Very nice. Would age well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black pour with a thin beige head and light lacing ....... Aroma of cocoa, bourbon, dry oak, def boozy, vanilla, light tobacco and cinnamon ..... Taste is of vanilla, cinnamon, cocoa, light chili heat, bourbon and dry oak .... Balanced flavors and the bourbons not too intense.... Def has mostly a cinnamon spice, vanilla, dry oak and dry chili heat in the finish .... Has a bit of abv that lingers .... Mouthfeel is oily .... Body is medium to full

Roasted malt aroma with some slight spice from the chillies. Taste is a slight sweet roasted malt, very full flavored stout, with mild chillie spice, and a vanilla bourbon finish. Fantastic balance. The chili spice is perfect in this beer. Some beers it is too much and burns the throat. This adds some slight heat without overpowering the stout. Brilliant balance. Alcohol is very masked. Such a good imperial stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz. Black pour, minimal head. Brownie batter. Chocolate frosting. Touch of vanilla. Nice pepper flavor. Some heat especially on the back end. Slight bourbon. Body is disappointingly thin for a 13%. Decent beer, but I was expecting a bit more from an Avery BA stout. The adjuncts and barrel presence were pretty light compared to their prevoious offerings.

Aromas of chocolate, dark malts, raisins, cacao, oak, leather, plums, prune juice, star anise, toffee and slight vanilla/cinnamon. Pours complete black with a menacingly absent foam and lace. Taste brings remarkably smooth chocolate, barrel wood, oak, leather, caramel and intense bourbon burn upfront. Mid palate comes toffee, vanilla, cinnamon and prominent chiles. Finishes heavy on the dark malts, raisins, prunes, star anise, licorice and residual chiles, cinnamon spice and heavy bourbon burn. Overall, really heavy on the bourbon and the chile/cinnamon spice. Very complex boasting lots of flavor.v

12 oz single bottle from the Craft Beer Cellar - Fort Collins. Black appearance with a small, lingering brown head and light lacing. Enticing aroma of chile peppers, chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, oak and a hint of bourbon. Similar flavor, medium sweetness and medium to heavy spiciness that lingers to the finish. The alcohol is hidden well at this ABV. Full body with average carbonation and a thick, coating mouth feel. Complex and pretty fun to drink overall.

Dark brown pour with a thin off white head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, oak, chiles are not detectable. Flavor features more of the same, but with a slight bite from the chile. Hmm, kind of mixed on this one. A pretty good sipper, but I feel like my palate will eventually become tired of it.
