Hazy red brown beer. No head. Sour woody nose. Light semi crisp palate. Mildly sour wood. Lactose sweetness - almost creamy. Tingly sour minerals induce salivation before a light finish. Sour aftertaste.

Bottle at Churchkey, shared with Eric. Bright copper color, edge head that disappears quickly. Aroma of fresh cherries. Taste is extremely tart, lots of barnyard funk and dust, but overwhelmingly so. Resin, apples, sour cherries, pine. Out of balance and too extreme, my guess is, too long in the oak. It is impossible to follow this beer with anything else - go ahead and prove me wrong!

Bottle at Beerwarming Party. Pours a mostly clear amber with a soft, white head. Lots of tart cherry in the aroma with some other fruit notes. Flavor is sour and modestly sweet with some wood and more bittersweet cherry. Light to medium in body with tingly carbonation. Finishes semi-sweet, dry and tart. Nice.

Koelschtrinker (18731) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - OCT 26, 2016
Spritziger, dunkel malzig-säuerlicher Antrunk. Spritzig, deutliche Holznoten, geringe Herbe, deutliche natürliche Kirschnoten. Vollmundig, die Säure bleibt spritzig, nie übertrieben. Zum Ende holziger, etwas trocken. Sehr harmonisch. 8/12/12/12/13/12
