Bourbon Barrel-Aged Peanut Stout

This creamy and colossal peanut stout is nuts. But, our resident archaeologist, historian, brewer, and professor...he’s really nuts. Mad peanut science.

12oz bottle from Xroads. Poured a medium to slightly thicker pitch black with a sparse bubbly mocha head that faded away just as quick as it formed. Aroma is loads of peanut butter, sweet bourbon, dark chocolate, booze, vanilla extract. Flavor is booze, dark chocolate, vanilla extract, bourbon, and a flash of peanut butter on the finish. Medium to fuller mouthfeel, tingly carbonation, loads of heat throughout.

At the brewery with a the same group, pours a dark black pour with no head. Nose is whiskey and peanuts. Taste is whiskey with peanuts and a roasty finish. A wonderful sipper. Quaff Score 8 / 10....8-3-8-4-17

AWISLguy (3242) - Wisconsin, USA - SEP 13, 2017
12oz bottle from Woodmans in Waukesha, cellar aged 2 months. Shared with bananabi11. Whew! Big barrel with rubbing alcohol nose. Peanut butter shows through the bourbon in the taste, but ultimately does not blend that great. Full bodied, with alcohol. Finishes sweetly. Shrug? Needs to age, certainly, but the other flavors don't come through too well either. 13.5

Bottle thanks to deyholla! Deep brown, viscous pour with a tiny head. Loads of peanut butter on the nose. Some chocolate syrup and caramel hmtoo. Some hot bourbon accents too. Drinks really hot and oily. Melted rocky road fudge and burnt brown sugar. Boozy finish. Sort of sharp. Full bodied. Soft carb.

solidfunk (9213) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - AUG 30, 2017
UPDATED: AUG 30, 2017 Not quite the beer of its imperial predecessors like Meph addict or Tweak. Lots of caramel. Lots of bourbon and only a little peanut like you need sexual surgery. Oily amd syrupy conistency. Bittersweet finish. Tap at Rustico.
