12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep cola brown with almost no head, just some small film spots and a half ring. Aroma of berries, Zinfandel, oak, caramel, molasses, plum, and light notes of soy and cocoa. Flavor of sweet and sour fruit (black cherry, plum, lemon, grapes), sour mash, chocolate, molasses, oak, toffee, and brown sugar. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and a sour mouthfeel that finishes dry. Good sour. Probably past its peak but has held up well overall. djd07 (14366) - Houston, Texas, USA - FEB 27, 2014

Bottle (12 oz). Thanks to Scott for this one! Murky dark brown with no head and no lacing. Aroma is very winey and fruity with wood, light sourness and sweetness notes. Taste is moderately sweet and sour with a lot of wine, fruits and oak. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium body. Low carbonation. Vinous mouthfeel. Dry finish. Despite being ugly, this is a really good Sour. The barrel character is still present despite the beer being 2+ years old. Good balance. Enjoyable. hopdog (12343) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 18, 2013

12oz bottle poured into snifter glass.
A: Murky Brown Hue, Passes Minimal Light, Thin Off White Head, Very Minimal Lacing
S: Oakey, Bitter Plums, Tart Cherries
T: Cherries, Tart Plums, Oak, Apricots, Hay
M: Average Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Semi Bitter, Mildly Sour
Overall, even with the amount of age on this retired bottle, it didnt seem to clam down at all or balance itself out. Decent but kind of all over the place, even for a sour beer.

12 oz bottle from adnielsen (also Jungle Jims). Pours a clear cola brown color with small off white soapy bubbles. The aroma has sour brown character with red wine, tannins, cherry, musty grapes, and wood. The flavor has a nice tart character, cherry, vinous, wood, with some sweetness as well. Solid. All of the first 10 from the series were shared by craftbeerdesign. Deep oak and dark cherries/black cherries dominate with big tannins. Not as well intergrated as some of these other, but very pleasent. Earthy and a tad funky.
