On tap @ Avery. Dark brown pour with a khaki head. Ginger overwhelms the nose. Sage, roast, and cocoa powder. Mild chalk, lots of herbs, and a subtle sweetness. Flavor is all ginger up front. Draft sampled at the brewpub. Pours hazy brown with a small tan head. Aroma is strongly herbal, sage reminding me of stuffing with a Sunday roast. Also strong ginger. Sample at the new brewery. Cloudy brown color with a medium khaki head that diminishes steadily to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of chai spices and malt. Light-bodied with a nice spiced chai tea character and notes of biscuit malt and chocolate. The finish is sweetly spiced with a chai tea aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Clear dark chestnut brown with a thin light tan head that doesn’t last very long. Big musty chai spice nose with big nutty brown malt notes and a hint of cinnamon. The flavor has a lot of chai and cinnamon tones to it, with a nutty/toffee brown malt finish. Pour on tap at the brewery, dark brownish pour with thin tan head, aroma brought notes of cinnamon, clove, spice, nice earth, grain, dark cocoa notes, hints of caramel, toffee, slight nutty notes as well. On tap at Avery. Poured a murky dark brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is big ginger and spice. The flavour is medium bitter with a spicy weak liqourice fruit palate. On draft at the Avery Brewery in Boulder. Pours a murky dark brown with a fine ecru head. Spicy clove and cinnamon flavors but not overpowering. Smooth finish.
