On tap at Avery Barrel Room poured a clear dark brown nearly black with a small lasting brown head. Aromas of bourbon, oak, vanilla, carmel, dark chocolate and light coffee. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bourbon, oak, vanilla, carmel, dark chocolate and light coffee with a smooth lingering bourbon finish. wetherel (1894) - Cupertino, California, USA - MAY 5, 2010
On tap at Oaquinox 2010. Black with a fine bubble tan head. Buttery barrel aged aroma. Sweet and delicious. Excellent. Nena (963) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 14, 2010
Draft, Brouwer’s. Black pour, tan bubbles. Lots of bourbon on the aroma, dark coffee roasty notes. This is a very smooth bourbon loaded imperial stout, some vanilla, light char, roasty coffee and chocolate. Not hot at all for a bourbon barrel stout. Loved this one. katrinaez (2307) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 18, 2015
Heavy hitting flavor at once. BourBon filters slowly down your throat and relaxes there. Deep black color. Tap potbeerjob (1343) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 14, 2010
Draught. Black with nonexistent head. Aroma of bourbon, very sweet chocolate, leather, light coffee and some notes of fruit (pear). Taste is sweet chocolate, boozy bourbon, very rich almost creamy. Palate is oily and has medium carbonation. Exceptional, and in my mind better than plain black tot.

Crushed at the Black Tot release. One hell of a beer. Plenty of bourbon to go around that lasts well past the finish. Definitely covers most of the flavor but it’s still excellent and as smooth as it gets. Like the original Tot, could use some aging, but unfortunately we’ll never know. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - MAY 14, 2010
draft at brouwers back in black. pours jet black with a loose ring of dark tan head and intermittent lace. mild bourbony nose. some sweet roasty malt balanced in. creamy medium thick body, some carb showing. roasty, ashy, charry mid palate with bourbony peach and vanilla leavening it in. sweet, powerful, pleasant impy. clingy sweet finish. UPDATED: AUG 26, 2010 On draught at the tap room/brewery. The beer pours black with a medium thick rocky beige head that diminishes slowly. Top ring of lacing with strings underneath. Boozy, chocolatey aroma. Rich, smooth body with flavors of bourbon, dark chocolate, malt and roasted coffee. The finish is roasty and oaky with a bourbon-infused chocolate aftertaste. Good beer overall. bu11zeye (13239) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - FEB 1, 2011
