12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 11/14/2016. Pours dense opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky khaki head with amazing retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of huge nutty dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, marshmallow, fudge, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, char, molasses, raisin, cherry, and roast/toast/oak earthiness. Very slight booze in the aromas as it warms. Incredible aromas with fantastic complexity and balance of coffee, dark/roast/bready malts, and bourbon barrel notes; with big strength. Taste of huge nutty dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, marshmallow, fudge, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, char, molasses, raisin, cherry, and roast/toast/oak earthiness. Light roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of nutty dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, marshmallow, fudge, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, dark bread, smoke, char, molasses, light dark fruit, and roast/toast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Insane complexity, robustness, and balance of coffee, dark/roast/bready malts, and bourbon barrel flavors; with an amazing roasted bitter/sweet and bourbon/oak spiciness balance; with zero cloying, acrid, or astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness. Medium carbonation and very full body; with a very smooth, creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is fantastic. Some chalky roast and oak tannins. Alcohol is very well hidden; a light-moderate increasing warmth of 16%, with very mild booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is an insane barrel aged imperial coffee stout! All around amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of coffee, dark/roast/bready malts, and bourbon barrel flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the enormous ABV. The taste really blew me away on the first sip. Perfectly balanced with intense fruity/nutty coffee complexity and very rich malts. Perfect barrel integration without much booze. A world class and mind blowing offering. alteregoo (1746) - Kalisz, POLAND - OCT 14, 2017
Piana obfita, drobna, średnio trwała. Barwa czarna, nieprzejrzysta. W aromacie intensywna kawa na tle przyjemnej czekolady, waniliny i bourbonu. Super. W smaku słodkie, tu dominują praliny, trufle, świeżo palona kawa, wanilia i karmel. Średnia, palona goryczka, lekko pikantny (szczypta chilli?) i tytoniowy posmak.

Bottled on 11.15.2016. A colablack beer, a head is light brown, dense, medium and not disappeared. Intensive aroma has salt liquorice, pleasant coffee, roastiness, vanilla and strenght of bourbon. Taste is even more intensive, liquorice, quite high and malty sweetness with hint of dried fruits, but not too sweet because there is dry barrel in the end, some bitterness. No alcohol. Full bodied, basicly not stickyness. Incrediable balance even with the high abv and also so intensive. Marvellous beer.

On tap at Neighborhood, SD. Pours black, big dark brown head. Nose is coffee, roast, vanilla, chocolate, booze. Tastes big roast and sweet chocolate, bourbon, boozy finish. Why 16%? AndyW68 (1599) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - SEP 24, 2017
Near black with heavy tan head. Aroma sweet chocolate and coffee. Taste adds a lot more chocolate and bourbon. Overpowering. Hits your nose and mouth with strong aroma and taste. Very strong.
