GABF 2008 @ Avery. This was fantastic. Hazy orange color with a decent amount of head. Hops and a funky faintly citrus barnyard with a sour hint on the aroma. Exceptionally bitter body with the funky brett finish from the 15. This was a great way to start of the festivities at Avery (and for GABF for that matter!). bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - DEC 20, 2008
(Draught) Pours a hazy orange body with a small white head. Aroma of leather, floral, citrus, barnyard, and horse blanket. Flavor of brett, hops (floral, herbal, citrus), and caramel malt. KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - OCT 1, 2009
Tap at brewery, GABF ’09.That1Guy (2237) - Colorado, USA - MAR 9, 2010
Pours a deep cheddar orange with a woodsy, cedar orange nose. Flavor is a nice musty grapefruit with cedar chunks. Coating mouthfeel. An interesting experiment that works.
Avery Sour Ale Fest. One of the definite highlights of the tasting. Tons of earthy, grassy, funky, spicy notes flowing through this one. Lots of horseblanket and leathery goodness in the flavor. Very, very cool beer. thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAR 3, 2011
(Draught during GABF week at the brewery) opaque golden orange pour, thick creamy lasting head. Nose is big and floral, brett, and oranges. Taste of florals, sweet malt, pine, nice balance, oranges and peaches. Slick mouthfeel, very soft carbonation, so creamy and so good.
TheFoamhead (260) - Vught, NETHERLANDS - NOV 18, 2015
Typical IPA looks with good stable head and slight hazyness. Nice brett aroma, tropical fruits, smooth and harmonic. Ratman197 (14973) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - OCT 12, 2008
On tap @ Avery Tasting room poured a hazy orange with a small lasting ivory head. Aromas of barnyard, earthiness, horseblanket, light carmel, lioght leather and light spice. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry lightly tart finish. Flavors of carmel, straw, horseblanket, barnyard, earthiness and light pine with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - DEC 26, 2010
Tap at the Brewery. Pours a hazed light amber with a nice head and lace. Aroma is funk, stinky horse farm, grass, phenolic, green hops, light citrus, plastic. Flavor is phenolic, grassy hops, light citrus, horse brett funk, leather, earth, clean and dry with an easy finish. Pretty good. TopTekeUWM (25) - Wisconsin, USA - SEP 28, 2009
2009 GABF Taproom. Beer poured a yellow/straw color with a thick white head. Floral and citrusy hops on the nose and in the taste. Mouthfeel was of moderate carbonation and big on hops versus malts. I didn’t get much from the bret. BuckeyeBoy (7975) - Boise, Idaho, USA - OCT 4, 2009
Tap at Avery Brewing Tap room Pours out a gold topped with a cream head. Aroma was of light brett, bread, malts, and some floral notes. Taste more of the brett funk but a good mix of floral and pine hops. A light caramel sweetness helped round it off.
