On tap at Schatzi’s. Pours a deep black with a thin tan head. Roast, chocolate, coffee, soft sweetness. Medium bodied, a bit of banana, warm malt, chocolate, roast, earthy coffee. Slow coffee and banana into the finish with warming alcohol. arminjewell (9689) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - DEC 20, 2011
Pour on tap at Avery for their Friday tapping, thick black pour with creamy dark tan head brought aromas of big espresso and chocolate covered coffee beans, hints of caramel, dark fruit and toffee, mixing further into coffee. Taste is a big roasted espresso up front, blending into a mocha middle with the coffee lingering into the chocolate malts, sweet toffee, dark fruits in the middle lead to a coffee roast, bitter roasted finish on the end with no sign of the ABV. Nicely done coffee stout, these guys do well with those, though Meph Addict is a whole other beast. cubs (10675) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 11, 2011
Tap @ Avery. Black appearance with a foamy brown head. Roasty, dark coffee, dark chocolate, mild earthy nose. Big roasty coffee flavor with some toasted chocolate malts, earthy undertones and some bitterness.
