Tap at brewery. 3fourths (9358) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - FEB 12, 2010
Pours a deep black with a nice beige head. Aroma is zesty, clean lemon peel with mustic attic cedar as an afterthought that screams in the background. Flavor is musty lemon sorbet with cedar chips. Full and thick mouthfeel. Perty good.
tap. medium brown, mostly clear. small latte-colored head. vibrant and bright nose of musty bandaid brettanomyces and more prickly/tannic grape skins/wine barrel. no brown ale qualities in the nose at all, but the brown malts and chewiness of the ellie’s does show up across the tongue, and it seems to messily clash with the yeast. prickly, somewhat harsh and unkempt acidity, with a soured vegetable broth flavor that makes it difficult to enjoy. Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a pint glass BeerandBlues2 (13869) - Escondido, California, USA - OCT 14, 2009
The color is dark brown with some light brownish head and some slight lacing.
The smell is light but has some nutty flavor. There is also some roasted malt flavor as well but it is a bit hard finding much more.
The taste is a bit creamy with a well carbonated malty taste. Some toffee and little hint of coffee as well
This beer is light to medium bodied and goes down really well. It also has a bit of a refreshing aftertaste as well.
Draught at Avery. Pours brown with a large, creamy light brown head, mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, caramel, nutty), average hop (herbs, grass), heavy yeast (horse blanket, barnyard, earth) with notes of plum, pear, and wine. Medium bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and a sour finish. Long duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity and sourness. bu11zeye (13239) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - OCT 2, 2009
(Draught) Pours a black body with a dense tall creamy long lasting beige head. Aroma of roastiness, horseblanket, barnyard, grass and some delicate herbal notes. Flavor of brett, cocoa, roasted malt, and caramel.
