On tap @ Boulder Strong Ale Fest 2014. Pours a bit hazy orange appearance with a thin tan head. Black cherry, plum, and other dark fruit notes in the nose. Some whiskey in the flavor along with some banana and cherry notes. Ok but a bit too strong for my taste. 3fourths (9331) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 10, 2008
2008 GABF week @ Avery. Slightly hazy honey gold color. Nose is honey and candy sugar with an Irish whiskey-like note, not the typical bourbon character but something more like Bushmills... unfortunately, a lot of the Belgian qualities of the Reverend are muted by the barrel aging, and the whole thing comes across as a mildly boozy fruit, honey, tea and whiskey experience. Body is medium to thin, little to no yeast noticed... overall a bit of a disappointment. KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - OCT 1, 2009
Tap at brewery, GABF ’09.dnstone (3383) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - MAY 3, 2012
Pours a thick, denses amber with a nose of slight whiskey barrel, molasses prunes, and candy malt. Flavor is a lightning-fast rush of bourbon, alcohol, and whiskey-soaked biscuit. Average mouthfeel but slightly tingly. If you don’t like bourbon, chances are you won’t like this.

Pours a deep cheddar with a sour, woodsy whiskey sour aroma. Flavor is woodsy oak and whiskey with sweet bourbon and fruit puree in the finish. Thick and coating on the tongue. Yet another winner from Avery.
Orange-golden in color. Sweet, fruity aroma with a bit of whiskey aroma. Sweet and slightly tart with a malt finish.
