On tap at Avery Tasting Room poured a hazy copper with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of bourbon, vanilla, oak, plum and light cherry. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bourbon, vanilla, oak, cherry and toffee with a smooth lingering bourbon finish.
Bourbon aroma up front, then candy sugar and dark fruits. Taste is candy sugar, dark fruit, vanilla, bourbon, woody. Sweet finish but not overly sweet. Has a tannic dryness from the wood almost which balances out the sweetness of the normal reverend. And the aging probably mellows it, but not as sweet as reverend and has some other great flavors that really add to the beer.

On draught at Acorn at The Source. The beer is a clear reddish-amber color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes steadily to a sparse outer ring. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of bourbon, malt and dark fruit. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, dark fruit and malt. The finish is oaky with a whiskey and malt aftertaste. Good beer overall.

On tap at the brewery during the 23rd Anniversary Party. Hazy dark bronze color, with a medium, foamy, head. Massive bourbon notes, with some walnuts, brown sugar, oak, pine sap, and cinnamon. Sweet and boozy, with a nice mild bitterness. Heavy body, with a velvety, luxurious mouthfeel. This is a wonderfully complex, smooth, and balanced beer. jimbowood (1036) - Freeport, Georgia, USA - SEP 30, 2009
Draft at Avery. I’m a sucker for a whiskey barrel aged brew and this one is just my style. Nice and plump without too much whiskey. That1Guy (2236) - Colorado, USA - FEB 20, 2009
Crushed with Jakebra on tap at the brewery. Cool combination. Regular Reverend was aight, bourbonized is badass. Very subtle bourbon notes enhance everything about this brew. Very smooth mouthfeel. Pretty awesome. KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - OCT 1, 2009

Pours a thick, denses amber with a nose of slight whiskey barrel, molasses prunes, and candy malt. Flavor is a lightning-fast rush of bourbon, alcohol, and whiskey-soaked biscuit. Average mouthfeel but slightly tingly. If you don’t like bourbon, chances are you won’t like this.
