Bottle. Pours a nice clean and clear dark brown. Aroma is sweet and malty with some nuttiness. The best part of this beer is the flavor. For a brown ale this is a little thinker more flavor of chocolate malts and vanilla and the roasted nuts come though also. Overall a good beer.
Can in Seattle. Modest, off-gray head on a toasty dark brown, mostly clear. Crusty rye bread nose. Smooth sip, right amount of sweetness matched with woody, bready malt. Nice dark bread impression. Solid. Buzzinbeas83 (14) - Paramount, California, USA - NOV 1, 2017
Malty, chocolatey. Lemon notes in finish with little hops and a little spiciness to it. I think pairs well with spicy food. Medium-fill body.

Poured from 12oz bottle a very deep brown with a smallish head of foam that dissipated quickly leaving just a very fine layer.
The smell has a nice sweet and roasted malt nose with some chocolate there as well.
The taste is a very tasty sweetish malt up front with just a slight roastiness and a bit of chocolate mid way through. Nice. There's also a slight grainy flavour that shows up in the finish. This is a very solid Brown Ale!
Bottom line: Avery Ellie's is a brew that I can easily recommend as it's one of best of its style that I've tasted to date. szymonskc (1015) - Skórcz, POLAND - SEP 15, 2017

I can't believe I've never rated this before. Tried for the first time in 2009 and had it numerous times since. Still one of my favorites. Light brown, some caramel and chocolate. Nice medium roastiness and a solid hop bite to finish. Finn (8149) - Tromsø, NORWAY - SEP 3, 2017

Pours brown from the can with a sand colored head. Aroma is lightly nutty, roasted cereal, sour yogurt. Taste is sweet/sour. The sour takes the upper hand at the finish. Body is somewhat thin, moderate carbonation. Not the best brown ale.
