COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beautiful, deep russet brew has the sweet and somewhat nutty character of Adam Avery's late (1992-2002) Chocolate Lab, for which it is named. Crystal and chocolate malts give this beer a brown sugar maltiness with hints of vanilla and nuts, while subtle hopping gives it an overall drinkability that's second to none, just like Ellie!

From Jun 2006 Poured from 12oz bottle a very deep brown with a smallish head of foam that dissipated quickly leaving just a very fine layer. The smell has a nice sweet and roasted malt nose with some chocolate there as well. The taste is a very tasty sweetish malt up front with just a slight roastiness and a bit of chocolate mid way through. Nice. There's also a slight grainy flavour that shows up in the finish. This is a very solid Brown Ale! Bottom line: Avery Ellie's is a brew that I can easily recommend as it's one of best of its style that I've tasted to date.

I can't believe I've never rated this before. Tried for the first time in 2009 and had it numerous times since. Still one of my favorites. Light brown, some caramel and chocolate. Nice medium roastiness and a solid hop bite to finish.

Boks 355ml fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø - Langnes. Drukket på Lillehøgda. Ultramørkebrun. Middels høyt kremaktig skum som daler sakte. Litt lacing. Lett karamellaroma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken lett karamell & skarpbrent malt. Ettersmak av brent malt.

Can. Brown with beige lasting head. A lot of nuts in this one. Chocolate, rasted and some grassy hops also.
