On tap at the brewery at the 23rd Anniversary Party. Clear, dark brown, with a small, creamy, beige head. Brown sugar, black cherries, lemon zest, black pepper, and molasses. Sweet and very tart. Tap at Avery. Pours a dark, murky red brown with very fine khaki head. Great retention, especially for the style, some thin lacing. Aroma is tart, lactic, oaky, strong vinous, and cherry. Flavor is tart/acidic, oaky, vinous, mild stone fruit, with a tart, mildly oaky aftertaste. Looks darker than it tastes. Becomes fruitier as it warms. A very dark pour, dark cream head. Almost red in color. A very sour beer, aged for 3 years. Not very boozy, only 9.5% abv. Dark in color only, very flavorful sour. A fruity taste. Overall, a pretty solid red sour ale without being burn out sour.

Tap at 3rd Annual Boulder SourFest (06-02-2012). Tasted this side-by-side with I and II. Poured a dark brown with a small off-white head. Smell is muscat, oak, tannin, light funk, toffee, and cherries. Taste is sour grape, light funk, wood, with a lingering sour and dry finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. On tap at Avery. Cloudy and brown with a thin head. Smells like a barrel room at a winery. Medium to full bodied with a real nice palate even with the significant sourness. Tasty.
