Nice tart punch with sweet taste. Very carbonated and pleasant mouthfeel. Pours a ruby amber hue with little head. Delicious.
On tap at the brewery at the 23rd Anniversary Party. Clear, dark brown, with a small, creamy, beige head. Brown sugar, black cherries, lemon zest, black pepper, and molasses. Sweet and very tart. Medium body, smooth, lightly acidic. This is a very smooth and easy sour. Seems to have aged well. SmokeyDaBear (150) - - NOV 2, 2013
Taster poured at Avery taproom for GABF. Pours a dark brown, Little head, remains around the outside of rim. Nice sour taste. Brouwerij (959) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 26, 2013
Tap at Avery. Pours a dark, murky red brown with very fine khaki head. Great retention, especially for the style, some thin lacing. Aroma is tart, lactic, oaky, strong vinous, and cherry. Flavor is tart/acidic, oaky, vinous, mild stone fruit, with a tart, mildly oaky aftertaste. Looks darker than it tastes. Becomes fruitier as it warms. Moderate carbonation, medium-light body, and a dry finish. A tasty, fruity sour ale. Azand222 (171) - Westminster, Colorado, USA - OCT 11, 2013
Special tapping at Avery's for GABF 2013.
A very dark pour, dark cream head. Almost red in color. A very sour beer, aged for 3 years. Not very boozy, only 9.5% abv. Dark in color only, very flavorful sour. A fruity taste. Overall a great sour, but very strong if your not used to it. merc7186 (3142) - North Tonawanda, New York, USA - OCT 7, 2013

On draft at Avery. Very sour, winey, and complex. Red wine, grains, and port. Made from a blend of 5 ales aged in Cabernet barrels. Sourheads will probably love it. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUL 3, 2012
(Draught) Pours a slightly reddish brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of cabernet, cherry, brett, citrus, and caramel. Flavor of cherry, caramel, pedio, cabernet, some citrus, and wild berries with a dry finish. Steve_0 (3745) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUN 4, 2012
Tap at 3rd Annual Boulder SourFest (06-02-2012). Tasted this side-by-side with I and II. Poured a dark brown with a small off-white head. Smell is muscat, oak, tannin, light funk, toffee, and cherries. Taste is sour grape, light funk, wood, with a lingering sour and dry finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. Really sour beer and although very different from Eremita II, a tie overall in the series. Mouth-puckering deliciousness. sonnycheeba (6214) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 2, 2012
Tap. Pours hazy dark brown with thin, fizzy off-white head; short retention and spare lacing. Aroma is figs, black cherries, leather, caramel malt, earthy hops, and oak. Flavor is heavy sour fruit with supporting sweet malt and faint hops; red wine notes throughout with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and carbonation with medium/high warmth. On tap at Avery. Cloudy and brown with a thin head. Smells like a barrel room at a winery. Medium to full bodied with a real nice palate even with the significant sourness. Tasty.
