On tap at Avery poured a hazy rose with a small lasting off white head. Aromas oif blueberry, straw, citrus, barnyard funk and light juniper. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry tart finish. Tap @ Avery during GABF week. Pours a bit reddish orange appearance with a white head. Somewhat spicy, a bit bretty, cherry, blueberry fruity flavor. Cloudy cherrywood color, white head. Acidic, sweet, sour taste. Alcohol and acidic aftertaste. Spritzy mouthfeel, very low bitterness. Tart, acidic, wood scent.
Opaque dark tangerine colored, like a rustic pumpkin color, with a thin ring of foam around the edge of the glass. The nose is hard to explain but has some gentle sourness, some fruitiness like tart green apple and apricot, and a certain Chardonnay/white wine tone. The flavor is an exceptionally quaffable sour ale with a complex, hard-to-describe taste. Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy reddish pour with thin pinkish head, aroma brought notes of sour cherry, raspberry, lactic notes with yogurt, blackberry, hints of oak and lemon in there as well. Taste is a mix of red fruits with raspberry, blueberry, slight floral note in there, hints of spice, nice oak and tannic presence, finishing tart but balanced. On draft at Avery Tap Room during GABF 2012. Pours a reddish color with a white head. Nose is big brett, some tart berries, oak, and lemon. Sampled on tap at the Avery Taproom on 9/28/2012. This wild ale pours a medium ruby red color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is cereal, tart, fruity and sweet, with some blueberry and a touch of juniper. A medium bodied wild ale. The malts are cereal, fruity and sweet with some blueberry. The hops are herbal. Nicely tart and a touch funky. Good carbonation. The tartness predominates but there is a nice explosion of blueberry flavor at the finish. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round.
