Nice magenta brown color with low carbonation and minor lacing. Almost no nose, just a little funk with some warmth. Very sour, and I say this cause I tried it after the Ermita and I was still all puckered up on the first sip. Taste is very much conchord grape-I should know I’m making a port right now with conchords. Nice sour. drewbeerme (3920) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 29, 2011
Draft at Avery, pours glowing red with soapy white head. Aroma has a nice vinegar, lactic, cherries, vanilla, some wood, and balsamic. Flavors hit hard with vinegar bite, vanilla woody character, sour cherries, rounded out by balsamic. Med bodied. Pretty freaking good. slimchill (1044) - Austin, Texas, USA - SEP 28, 2011
Draught. Good cherry acidity in nose, with oak and plum notes. Cloudy, opaque burgundy with a thin head. Really well balanced with restrained sourness, deep thick sweetness, and a spicy wood character. Fully developed fruit tones and a syrupy texture. Top notch. Pours hazy straw with a moderate white head. The head fades slowly to a thin remnant, leaving behind a moderate amount of lace. On the nose, it is quite sour with Brett, tart tropical fruits and grape. It also has a slightly spicy character and a hint of banana. The flavor is sour throughout, with an initial light bitterness and a touch of spiciness. It becomes more sour and slightly more bitter as it progresses. The finish is long and sour with slightly dry malt. On the palate, it is light-medium with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice sour, with a slightly spicy character. The finish is particularly nice and the malts are very well balanced. RSRIZZO (2000) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - AUG 13, 2011
On tap at Avery Anniversary Party 8/7/11. Color is an amber orange with mellow carbonation and a thin tight head. Aroma is a fruity sour malt scent. Body is a lighter medium that gives a light crisp mouth feel. Flavor comes on fruity with cheery, pineapple, and apple this starts sour but turns sweet with some plum on the end. After taste is clean with a hint of spice. Overall its one of the best and fruitiest sours I’ve ever had.
