This dangerously drinkable garnet beauty is a hop lover’s delight. The intense dry-hop nose and the alcohol content are perfectly balanced for a caramel candy-like malt finish. This is a serious beer for serious beer afficionados and it only gets better with age. Cellarable for 3 years.

Bottle. Brown color, tan head. Hoppy fruity scent, some alcohol. Full mouthfeel. Bitter taste and aftertaste. Very hoppy.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy to murky orange with a lacing orange head. Dry woody and liqourice like hops aroma, solid. Flavour is subdued sweet at first and followed by a dry woody and liqourice pinehops flavour. Somewhat too brutal yet not without a certain inviting tastyness to it. Ends dry and bitter, lingering liqourice and wooden notes. Lacks some refinement - somewhat too brutal.

An amber beer with a small light brown head. The aroma is grassy and hoppy. The flavor is very hoppy combined with notes of caramel. Nice Barley Wine with the alcohol really well hidden.

Reddish-brown in colour. Small white head. Very hoppy aroma and hints of malt in the background. Flavor of hops, more hops that i am used to in barleywine. But the hops is well balanced with the malt. Nice warming bitter-sweet finish.

Bottled. Copperishred colour, beige foamy head. Sweet fruity aroma with hints of caramel. Very pleasant. Flavour is caramel, alcohol with hops coming in strongly in finish. Long hoppy aftertaste.

Draft courtesy of the Churchkey crew, thanks! Cloudy golden brown color, decent lacing. Shocking pine aroma, a pleasant surprise when I was expecting a barleywine. Taste is bittersweet. Nice variation on a theme.

Bottle at Beer tasting i organised at work ...copper ... sweet slightly malty and lots of pine hop ... Sweet juicy fruit ... very sweet but over hoppy for me ... little oily ... too bitter in linger ...

omhper (25378) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JAN 21, 2002
Reddish brown, hazy. Big grapefruit aroma. Bitter. A very tasty typical American veriosn of barley wine.

Clear dark red - amber beer. Decent off white head. Light, soft and semi dry palate. Toffee caramel malt - well salted! The hops kick in towards the end - a little spicy bitter orange. Tongue tingling finish. Not bad - just a little rough edged.
