COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dangerously drinkable garnet beauty is a hop lovers delight. The intense dry-hop nose and the alcohol content are perfectly balanced for a caramel candy-like malt finish. This is a serious beer for serious beer afficionados and it only gets better with age. Cellarable for 3 years.

Too hoppy. Not balanced. Pricey. Cool label, too big of bottle for 9.2%. Find some friends and share one, then drink a Youngs Old Nick to see what a BW should really taste like.

Copper colour with lasting head. Aroma has lots of sweet malts, quite syrupy. Flavour is bittersweet with caramel and floral hop.

Barley wine style renamed imperial red IPA .. Sweet caramel malts dominate. Sticky tropical hops balance this beast. Syrupy, hoppy finish lingers.

23.03.2017, 0,65l bottle shared with friends @ local tasting:
Nice slightly bubbly-creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry concentrated grassy, leafs, hops, citrus peel, minerals, bark, light malts, alcohol, lawn, moss, paper, pine needles. Taste is slightly concentrated sweet grassy, leafs, weeds, minerals, sugar, bark, alcohol, pine needles, moss, hops, paper, citrus peel, sap. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly harsh boozy mouthfeel. Fair enough.

Bottle. Pours a clear deep amber body with a medium white head. Nose is peaches, red fruits, cinnamon, caramel, toffee, rose water and hints of red berries and canned pears. Taste is red fruits, peaches, alcohol, caramel, rose water and hints of pine, resin, licorice and raisins. Medium to full body, medium to soft carbonation. Very easy-going and dangerously drinkable, this is an American barley wine I can dig.

Saw a 4 pack of cans with Hog Heaven on them. But it said Imperial Red IPA, so I didnt bother with it. I wanted the Barleywine. So disregard the rating above. I did not try their new red IPA.

0.33 bottle. Pours hazy orange, white head. Aroma is candy, peach, alcohol vapors, fruity hops. Medium body, low carbonation, silky mouthfeel. Flavors: hoppy caramel, malts. You can feel the alcohol warmth. Bitter finish. Good for my first barley wine.

My bottle says Hog Heaven Imperial Red IPA, not sure why it falls under being a barley wine. But that is for better minds to figure out. The bomber delivers a caramel red body with an off-white head with some serious bubbling action. The smell, I am not sure, but maybe this where the wine thing comes in. It does lean towards a grain and wine scent. I find the taste much more appealing. I get a strong hit of hops, melon and citrus, a light sweetness and finishing with a long bitterness. Definitely the alcohol is there in the background. Different, not bad, just not something I get all excited about.

Pours a soft mahogany with a frothy white head that stays long. Psycho lacing. Nose is piney with a bold malt component. Taste is well balanced with an astringent finish. Somewhat dank aftertaste. Very nice brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Avery usually makes my mouth happy but overall this one could have been better. It was not very flavorful. it was a beautiful pour with a nice, rusty orange coloration and had a nice head that held on through the bottle. It was a bit dry for my palate which may be why I missed the sweetness I expected.

Not sure date but smelling it seems a few yrs possibly 1. Rusty orange. Light oxidized hops cherry like , mild pine, sweet stale cereal buiscuity malts. Solid taste of malts and spent hops, cherry , some dry, smooth, malty. Good barleywine, not really complex, malty simple and seems overall a little oxidized, think I would like to have this fresh or stored better. I enjoyed it but poorly store or something, found out its about 8 mo old.
