3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
As a single ipa, this one is worth it. I prefer the cans vs the bottles. Just stays fresher. Sweet taste of malts balanced by the hops. Initial smell on fresh cans is big citrus. A grat ipa. A lil heavy for a session beer though.
From Jul 2007
Purchased as part of a mixed 6 Pack at Wilbur's in Ft Collins.
Pours from 12oz bottle a clear medium gold with a good head of foam that shrinks to a fine broken layer and it has some lacing.
The smell is strong on the citrus(grapefruit) and is quite inviting.
The taste is all hops up front. Lots of grapefruit with and some floral with a little grassy and in the background, I get a decent malty profile that helps give this IPA some balance. Very drinkable. I could easily see myself enjoying another bottle or 2. ;^)
The mouthfeel is nice and smooth and the carbo is medium. It's not an over the top type of IPA but it's a solid example of the style and it would be a regular of mine if it was available locally. Good stuff. Beastwhite315 (33) - - SEP 7, 2017
Very hoppy nose is quite refreshing. Dark yellow in color with a nice white head that hangs on the glass. Not really a lot of hip taste but definitely some bitterness bite. Beer store owner was discounting the variety pack because it has been on the shelf awhile. He said the IPA lost some of its flavor. To me the mellowness makes it more enjoyable for a non hop lover

UPDATED: SEP 3, 2017 Light yellow colour with nice head on top which leaves beautiful lacing to the sides of the glass. Aroma has citrus fruits, grapefruit and lemon, floral notes too. Taste is bitter with grapefruit and citrus hops, slight sweetness tries to come through but is washed away by the grapefruit. Ends with dry bitter hop punch, lingers for a good while. Medium body and medium carbonation. mariuspoenari (3174) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - AUG 12, 2017
Semi-hazy orange pour with a thin off-white head. Very old - 9 months at least. Notes of caramel, perfumey hops, overripe passion fruit, floral hops, citrus. Not too bitter, quite perfumey and caramel-forward, probably due to the age. I might need to revisit this beer. Bacchus66 (999) - South Carolina, USA - AUG 2, 2017
From tap @ ADT. Clear golden orange with a frothy white head. Citrus and hops aromas. Flavors are typical IPA, grapefruit, orange rind, bitter hops, caramel hops. Medium bodied with a lingering, refreshing bitter finish. Not too heavy. Quality IPA as I’d expect from Avery.

Pours hazy gold from the bottle. The frothy white head lingers. Aroma is dough like, citrus, caramel. Taste is moderately bitter with fruity notes at the finish. Body is full, spongy, thick for the style. Good. mjmoen (626) - - JUN 17, 2017
B. Pours a clear golden color with white head. Well balanced and full of flavor. Citrus aroma AaronTDubs (500) - - JUN 7, 2017
Golden color. Nice head. Medium carbonation. Fruit citrus aroma, some floral notes, a nice fruity character, almost beligian. Nice maltiness. Sweet and hoppy, but ultimately balanced. Has a spicy, floral, and citrus finish. The hoppiness stays for a while, very floral. Good IPA. I like mine with a bit more malt. BenL8 (298) - SWITZERLAND - MAY 17, 2017
Haven’t had this for quite some time. Pours pale(ish) dark yellow with some head. Aroma is tropical and citrus fruit, quite a lot of pine, herbal and earthy. Lots of obvious west coast USA hops. Medium body. Taste is hoppy and rather bitter, but not as stuffed with hops as newer American IPAs. Actually nicely balanced with the malt base. Very nice beer, just not too exciting tbh. Hoppy-herbal finish is moderately long and nice. Good as an everyday IPA. Westkyoto77 (640) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAY 12, 2017
Half-pint at Tameals in Shinagawa station. Rocky short-lived head on amber-gold. Grapefruit, peaches, whiff of caramel. Medium body. Crisp finish.
