On tap at Avery Tasting Room poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, rye, earthiness and light spice. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Clear, light copper hued, like a new penny. Aroma of rye toast and biscuit. I tasted rye, wheat bread, a little sweetness, maybe toffee. Unsure. Somewhat 1 dimentional. Sorta tasted like liquid pretzel with no salt. There is some slight herbal spice, like clove or something. But not clove. Light brownish pour with thin off white head on tap at the brewery, aroma brought notes of big rye spice, some earth, nuts, hints of caramel, earthy and grassy hops make their way in as well. Pours a clear, dark golden copper color with pale tangerine hues and a two finger frothy white head that has pretty good retention, slowly fading into a lasting cap. Sporadic rings and streaks of lacing. Visible carbonation bubbling up.
Slightly spicy aroma with faint floral hops and sweet malt. Hints of toffee, caramel, biscuit and light fruit. Apricot and hazelnut with brown sugar and cinnamon.
Medium bodied with a nice balance of zesty spice, earthy hops and sweet malt notes. Hints of pepper, brown sugar and cinnamon up front followed by the caramel malt, rye, biscuit, toffee and hazelnut notes. Sweet fruit notes toward the finish, mostly apricot and tangerine. Dry finish. Spice is a bit heavy for my liking.

Light brown with good carbonation. Nose is not very strong, but some earthy malt. Taste is mild with rye not really showing very strong directly, comes across more in an earthy, rustic element very reminiscent of a dry apple cider. Tasty. On tap at Avery. Pours a deep gold/brown. Smells lightly of caramel. Feels way thicker than expected and tastes slightly roasty with rye and a bit too much alcohol.
