Draft at DLD shared by Kan. Thanks! Pours a nice glowing amber, a big darker, with good haze, small offwhite head that dies to a ring and leaves pretty good lacing considering. Aromas are bourbon and wet oak, sweeter caramel and toffee, a touch of fruity yeast with a light spice. touch of toastiness. Initial is similar, warm bourbon spirit, vanilla tannins up front with more wet oak, sweeter caramel and toffee, fruity esters down beneath, a touch of Belgian spice. This one made its way over to our camp at DLD ’10, and I’m not sure who brought it, but I believe it was a guest tap. Beernbourbon? pantanap? BBB63? No idea, but someone deserves for me to split something cool with him. I took shitty notes on this, even spelling the name of it wrong. Pours amber with a small off-white head. Notes of bourbon, caramel malts, vanilla, and wood. Medium-full bodied, with low carbonation and a sticky, boozy mouthfeel. Draft at Stone Oakquinox 2010. Orange amber pour, off-white head. Bourbon, sweet malt, fruit, belgian yeast, brown sugar, and wood. I don’t really like it, far to sweet for my taste.

Sampled at Papago. Really top notch brew here. Rusty tangerine pour with a small eggshell head that left a razor thin ring. Ample carbonation. On tap @ Papago for Tax Your Liver. Pour is murky burnt orange with a thin khaki head that leaves some spotty lacing. Aroma is sooo bourbon packed, but in a good way! Underneath all the bourbon is wood, vanilla, caramel, brown sugar and maple. Flavor shows the same with some additional underlying tangerine, orange, apricot thing going on. Overall body is moderate to heavy sweet, with a full creamy mouthfeel and some nice warming alcohol. Overall it’s balanced extremely well and I thoroughly enjoyed sipping this one.
