A traditional black porter, with a surprise twist - it's dry-hopped!! We've expanded the porter category a bit, adding a delightful, dry hop aroma to blend with the sweet caramel and chocolate characteristics of a Robust Porter.

Aroma: The smell is full of dried ripe fruits, raisins, dates and figs. Some vinous, port, aromas. Roasted malt, toasty and some coffee notes.
Appearance: The beer is very dark brown, almost black, a beige head that leaves good lacing.
Taste: The taste is rather sweet, fruits, sherry and coffee and cocoa beans giving some alcohol presence but mostly a good bitter finish.
Palate: A weak carbonation, smooth and a bit oily, a slightly dry finish.
Overall: A good porter, rather sweet.

Boy thanks to cthomas2390. Appearance - Nose - toffee, autumn leaves Taste - dry earthy, burnt toffee, dry chocolate. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - not as exciting as I hoped.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep mahogany, near opaque , medium tannish head with okay retention and lacing. Nose is roast, cocoa, Java and some malt. Mouth is medium bodied, pleasantly bitter up front (and throughout for that matter), coffee, bakers chocolate, barley, pumpernickel, some soot near the finish. Very nice.

Under rated porter by avery. This one has a nice dank smell. Tastes super hoppy and slightly malty. Really easy to drink and tastes a lot like a black ipa. Pours black with a tan head. Had at home ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark color with off head.Smell is alcohol which is strange considering it’s only 6.7 percent abv some hop presence. Taste is very roasty malts, with nice chocolate on the back end, Outstanding porter.

Poured from 12oz bottle at home. Pretty bitter beer for a porter. Has a sweety earthy aroma, some spices. Taste is a little complex to me, dry, coffee and cocoa notes, earty, carmel, tobacco, and even a little raisin. Enjoyed it more as I got to the bottom. Thumbs up I think!

"hopped as heavily as some imperial porters, without the big body or heavy roasted flavors and abv. the body is a little thin, but smooth. the aroma and taste with the malt and dry hopped balance really works, especially as it warms. if it had more body, it’d be among my favorite porters."

Julie says very hoppy and did not like it. Julie gives a 2.0 ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep brown pour with tight tan head and lace. Aroma is sweet roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is sweet chocolate start that transitions to a hard malt bitter. Light fruity esters and a light touch of abv warmth. Medium bodied with good carbonation. A touch foamy but not over the top. Bordered on a harsh bitter finish.
