Black color, tan head. Sweet chocoalte and some chicken food scent. Chocoalte, grainy and a bit vinous scent. Smooth mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.

Clear dark reddish brown color, tan head. Sweet malty and chocolate scent. Some cinnamon also. Sweet, hoppy, malty, dry, roasted, coffee taste. Smooth mouthfeel, dry bitterness.

Pours black color with a small off-white head. Aroma of dark roasted malts, dry chocolate, cocoa, licorice and mild hop notes. Flavor of licorice, dark roasted malts, tar notes and cocoa, some chocolate too. Very nice and dry porter.
Draft sample at Cincy Beerfest. Pours a very dark brown color with a half-inch thick tan head that sticks around. Aroma of roasted malts, smoked wood, chocolate, caramel, earthy hops, and brown sugar. Flavor of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, smoked wood, earthy hops, caramel, and toast. Pours dark brown with a nice tan head and a hearty treacle and chocolate aroma. The flavor is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and molasses, and is imbued with that unclassifiable taste characteristic that is common to most Avery brews. The body seems thin at first, but expands as the beer warms.

pours ruby/black, thin golden/off white head
Aroma is malty and chocolate, light scent of dark fruits and sweet, light notes of hops.
Taste, light roasted malts, some coffee / toffee. Light addition of hops that adds for an original mouthfeel coupled with some dark fruits.
Finish has a thin touch of caramel that ends smooth with bits of cocoa powder and hops..

Tap at Paradiso Dupont. A deep, black ruby pour yields no head of significance and no lace. Pepper and spice in the nose along with molasses. Taste is olive, cardboard, pepper, chalk. Iron and heavy metals come through. Dominant character is cardboard. I have here in my notes: "Tastes like Wal-Mart receipts soaked in cigarette water." 33 cl. bottle split by 3 @ “Memorabel Tastingkje”. Thanks to tderoeck! Spare tanned head, hazy brown dark amber. Bit thin sweet bread, caramel, cereal, toffee, faint leather, plum, allspice going into a strong gravy / touch soy sauce finish, touch herbal but only light bitterness. 12oz bottle. Black color with a red hue, thin light brown head, good lace. Slightly translucent. Light and crisp/smooth carbonation. Hoppy and malty aroma, some chocolate. Satisfying amount of hops, definitely a black IPA (and a pretty good one, too). Mostly bitter. Some sweet taste, a bit of spice. Tasty enough to be called drinkable
