Our winter ale has a gorgeous mahogany hue, a hint of hazelnuts, and a finish reminiscent of mocha and toffee. No spices, just a perfect blend of five specialty malts. Cellarable for 3+ years.

Scopey (14202) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 1, 2011
On tap at the Meddlesome Moth, Dallas. It pours a deep ruby-brown colour with small foamy beige head. The nose is fairly subtle - red berries, nuts and caramel. The taste is date, raisin, plum, leather, oak, liquorice, nuts, varnish, a little honey and some lemon sherbet with an astringent-bitter finish. The overall taste is quite dry and bit too savoury, making it quite difficult to finish.

Bottle as shown. Pours a dark amber color with a small frothy off white head. The aroma is a sweet hop and nuts. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste is a sweet fruit, apple with a dry finish. Very drinkable and hides the alcohol well. A very good English Strong Ale from Avery.

Dogbrick (12735) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 5, 2002
Found at Jungle Jims in Fairfield, OH. Averys brews have all been pretty good so far and this is no exception. This is a pretty good seasonal ale to boot. Pours a pretty amber color with a medium thin beige head. Spicey aroma of connamon and hops. The flavor was a mixture of malts, brown sugar, cinnamon etc and was surprisingly rich. Good stuff!
