Dark redbrown, smooth light brown head. nutty dark caramelly aroma, also some dark chocolate, some bitter hops in the background. flavor is dark caramelly sweet, dark toffee, faint roasted malts, bitter malts, faint flowery and bitter hop flavor to balance. a beer with lots and lots of taste from malts, but never too sweet.

On tap at Petrol Station. Pours a clear amber brown with a deep gray head that dissipates to the edges and laces nicely. Aroma has notes of caramel and sweet grain with a hint of backing toffee. Flavor begins with a hint of bread and grains and finishes with sweet grains, a bit of hops and toffee.

on tap-pours a minimal white head. Color is deep amber. Aroma is grain. Taste is grain, sweet, coffee/chocolate/toasty. An occasional beer for me. Again, this is a Big Beer with that complex, thick taste.

rosenbergh (11954) - Tampere, FINLAND - DEC 24, 2009
355 ml bottle. From København, Denmark.
Dark reddish brown colour with average off-white head. Sweetish dark hoppy, roasted malty aroma with some winey elements. Dark roasted malt, sweet hops, caramel in flavour. Sweet, thick and full brew.

Bottled: Dark amber coloured. Clear. Light brown small dense head. Berries, caramel and spices in the nose Flavour of chocolate, hops, light fruit, sweetness. Has a full maltbase and a light alcoholtouch. Is nicely bitter in the end, and has a long impact on the palate. Nice one.

355 ml. can @ Gollem: USA Beerweek(end) #2. Canned 20 October 2016. Very dark ruby brown, tanned big head. Nose is old leaves, ditch water, malt, stale caramel, kitchen spices. Taste is herbal leaves, old bay leaf, sugar, spices, leaves, Chinese medicinal herbs, candy, old candy, cacao, bit too thin,... Body is thinner caramel & bay leaf. Less malt sweet than I hoped, bit too old kitchen spices, medicinal herbs heavy. Okay but not on par with I hoaped, some soap in the body. Bottom of the can read "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball" :)

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2003 This beer mega-macadoscious rocks!!! The aroma is of rich malt, dark fruits and chocolate. A crystal clear, deep mohogany color. Handsome. God, I'm a geek. I just called a beer handsome... and it's not the first time. The flavor is to die for. Malty and slightly sweet up front. Well-balanced with a whisper of tartness and bitterness on the backside. Full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel. Lively carbonation. Medium-length, slightly acidic, mostly dry finish. Incredible beer! English Strong Ale? Ehhh!!! I'm not the categorizing expert that those who run the site and brew the beer are, but this brew reminded me of a Belgian Dubbel. Whatever. Drink one.

Bottle at home from notes. Pours a dark hazy amber color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have caramel, plums, figs, dates, brown sugar, spices and chocolate. Medium-bodied. This is a nice one to sip on cooler evenings.
