Tasted on tap at the brewery in Boulder. Dark red/orange appearance with a light head. Sweet alcoholic aroma. Pretty intense English Strong Ale flavor at first. Somewhat malty body that’s slick in mouthfeel like an Old Ale or a Barleywine. Definitely alcoholic flavor. BVery (10609) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - APR 12, 2010

2009-04-10. Very dark brown body with a nice foamy tan head that fades. (3+) Sweet fruit aroma, mild alcoholic undertones, touch of spice? (7+) Flavour is similar, light spice, malt core is a bit mild, touch of oxidation? Light note of raisins or dark fruit in the finish. Smooth medium bodied palate. Decent. Bottle shared by GregClow

Pours dark mahogany color with a small head. Woody and toffee-dominant aroma and resin. Flavor irs sweet with toffee and caramel, ripe fruits and mild spice notes. A bit sweet.
Pours dark brown with a thin beige head and a treacle aroma. The slightly harsh roasted malt flavor, typical of this brewer, is evident in this brew. However, it is a good, tasty example of a strong ale, with some carbonation and a bitter finish. phaleslu (10334) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 6, 2011
Draft served in a tulip at The Stable. Pours a deep, cloudy amber color with a small beige head. Aroma of caramel malts, plums, figs, dates, brown sugar, and spices. Flavor of caramel malts, brown sugar, the same fruits as in the nose, and chocolate. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a malty, fruity mouthfeel. A lot like a barleywine. Good balance, nice sipper.
