Tasted on tap at the brewery in Boulder. Dark red/orange appearance with a light head. Sweet alcoholic aroma. Pretty intense English Strong Ale flavor at first. Somewhat malty body that’s slick in mouthfeel like an Old Ale or a Barleywine. Definitely alcoholic flavor.

marcus (10340) - Sacramento, California, USA - FEB 17, 2010
Pours dark brown with a thin beige head and a treacle aroma. The slightly harsh roasted malt flavor, typical of this brewer, is evident in this brew. However, it is a good, tasty example of a strong ale, with some carbonation and a bitter finish.

phaleslu (10334) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 6, 2011
Draft served in a tulip at The Stable. Pours a deep, cloudy amber color with a small beige head. Aroma of caramel malts, plums, figs, dates, brown sugar, and spices. Flavor of caramel malts, brown sugar, the same fruits as in the nose, and chocolate. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a malty, fruity mouthfeel. A lot like a barleywine. Good balance, nice sipper.
